Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg & Bangalore, and we have close cooperation with the sites in Greensboro and Lyon.
In the Thermal Management Hardware Team, you will play an important role in ensuring the successful creation and deployment of a product, from initial concept through to production and maintenance.

What’s in it for you?
We are looking for an HW Agile Product Owner to lead the Cooling Module Electric Vehicle (EV) team.
As the Agile Product Owner for the Cooling Module EV team, you will lead the development of mechanical and mechatronic components for the next generation of all truck brands and markets within the Volvo Group. This includes key elements of the thermal management system such as heat exchangers, radiators, recirculation shields, fan rigs, high-voltage fans, and low-voltage fans.
Acting as the bridge between stakeholders and cross-functional agile teams, you will be responsible for defining product requirements, prioritising features, and driving the development of high-quality, safety-compliant mechatronic systems and mechanical components under Thermal Management responsibility.
As part of the thermal management team, you will collaborate closely with your peers, sharing progress and aligning targets to maximize the collective output and ensure efficient and innovative thermal solutions.
Key responsibilities in this role includes:
- Stakeholder Management, to collaborate with Epic Owners, system architects, system engineers, and internal engineering teams to align on goals and defining the roadmap.
- Leading the Cooling Module EV agile team and secure delivery precision
- Ensure clear alignment on development priorities, technical scope, and delivery timelines with Epic Owners and help the agile team to remove blockers.
- Stay updated on new technologies (e.g., electrification, FCEV) and identify opportunities to improve component performance and reliability.
- Understand the interplay between mechanical, electrical, and embedded software components within mechatronic components.
- Guide the team, managing design complexity, and ensuring functional integration across domains.
Who are we looking for?
A dedicated and skilled automotive engineer with a deep expertise in thermal management, electrical system integration, and cooling technologies.
A team player with a positive mindset, and curious about the various challenges of development. Having the willingness to effectively build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organisation.

In order to be successful in this role, we believe that you have the following background and qualification:
• M.Sc. degree in in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
• Several years of experience from development of mechatronic & hardware components, within the automotive or transportation industry
• Understanding power electronics, and high voltage systems.
• Knowledgeable in automotive industry safety standards, including ISO 26262 (functional safety), and compliance with high voltage safety regulations.
• Multiple years of experience in supplier management and the APQP process
• Structured way of working and ability to deliver complex tasks with excellence
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Educating/mentoring others within Thermal Management Domain
• Strong communication skills (English - verbal and written)
