Volvo Energy is our newest business area with the overarching purpose of accelerating the Volvo Group’s transformation ambitions within electrification, sustainability, circularity, complete service offer, profitable growth and resilience.

We are looking for: Head of Legal– Charging & Infrastructure Solutions

You will have the opportunity to shape and lead the development of Volvo Energy’s Legal & Compliance function, working closely with the rest of the team. Together, we will collaborate with the executive leadership and colleagues across the organization to create solutions that promote circularity and drive us toward a sustainable future. With high speed and agility, Volvo Energy will support the Volvo Group to meet and exceed customers’ expectations on electrification, contributing to a society that we all want to live in.

Working at Volvo Energy is different

Welcome to a team unified by a compelling mission, great ideas, fun, diversity, and inclusiveness. Our colleagues are - and will always be - the most important part of the story. Each colleague truly matters and plays an important role in our journey. Consequently, while demands are high, there are also plenty of opportunities to learn and grow - as a professional and as a person. As a relatively small team, we’re looking for colleagues who thrive in an entrepreneurial environment—those who can hit the ground running, lead with passion, perform with purpose, and drive transformation with vision. Moreover, it is essential that you have a strong ability to form trustful relationships to effectively work with partners - inside and outside of the Volvo Group.

You will make a difference

As the global lead for Legal & Compliance within Charging & Infrastructure Solutions, you will be part of the management team—giving you the opportunity to strengthen your business acumen and proactively support colleagues with expert legal and compliance advice. You will also be our representative in the Compliance Leadership Team and the Legal Data Committee, both on Group level, as well as take lead on data privacy and other data related topics.

In this role, you will contribute to strategic projects while managing a broad spectrum of legal matters. These include evaluating new business models, supporting regulatory investigations, and developing contractual frameworks for the charging business. You’ll also draft and negotiate various agreements—such as those related to innovation, R&D, partnerships, NDAs, and data. In addition, you will support the business with day-to-day compliance matters, aligned with both operational needs and guidance from the central Volvo Group Compliance function.

As part of a unified legal team providing seamless support across the organization, you’ll also have the opportunity to work on matters related to the Battery Value Chain from time to time. We hope this will be a motivating experience that helps you deepen your understanding of the full electromobility value chain.

Making it a success for yourself and Volvo Energy

To succeed, we believe that you are passionate, business-orientated, pragmatic, with a positive spirit and an entrepreneurial mindset. You also have high integrity and are used to negotiating and drafting commercial agreements. As we are a small legal & compliance team, it is of the utmost importance that you feel comfortable working independently and that you take the mandate to drive your areas of responsibility.

We also believe that you have a strong ability to engage, lead and coach as this job is all about collaboration and leading the way in your field. To us, leading the way means being a good listener, a clear communicator, and someone who easily connects with and engages others.

As our business area is new, you need to share our curiosity for new technologies, tools and ways-of-working and constantly want to take it to the next level. At the same time, you realize that breaking new ground also means mistakes will happen and nothing will be perfect. These are not frustrations but instead learning opportunities for you.
