Shape the Compliance and Governing Structures for Privacy & AI Across the Volvo Group
As the world of data and artificial intelligence accelerates, Volvo Group is strengthening its global Privacy & AI Compliance governance.
We are seeking a Head of Privacy & AI Policies & Framework — a key governance role within Group Privacy and AI Compliance Team responsible for defining the governing policies, standards, and templates that ensure a clear, coherent, and future ready approach to Privacy & AI compliance across the Volvo Group.
You will be responsible for setting the governance fora and structures including coordinating initiatives with the different Truck Divisions/Business Areas and privacy networks. You will be the main contributor to the framework structures that enable consistent, scalable, and defensible compliance with global privacy laws, GDPR, and the EU AI Act.
You will work closely with:
- Head of Process & Operations to ensure policies and standards can be implemented at large scale.
- Head of Control Program to ensure policies and standards define evidence and control expectations.
- Legal & Compliance Counsels and Compliance Officers to ensure legal defensibility.
- Digital & IT, Security, Procurement & Engineering and other stakeholders in the Volvo Group to harmonize cross functional governance.
The preferred location for this position is Gothenburg Sweden, but any of our major sites may also be considered.
Your Mission
As Head of Privacy & AI Policies & Framework, you will:
Define the global governance architecture
- You will be responsible for further developing, and evolving the Group’s policies, mandatory standards, instructions, templates, and governance models for Privacy & AI.
Set clear, actionable requirements
- You translate legal, regulatory, and strategic expectations into practical, scalable, and enterprise-wide requirements that provide clarity and consistency.
Harmonize governance across adjacent domains
- You ensure alignment between Privacy & AI governance and related domains such as Security, Procurement, IT, Digital, and Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Groupwide policies, standards, templates, and compliance instructions.
- Ensure global policy governance is coherent, futureproof, scalable, and aligned with regulatory developments.
- Align policy content and updates, set mandatory requirements, and define compliance metadata structures.
- Escalate policy deviations and ensure globally consistent governance.
KPIs & Success Measures
- Policy adoption and adherence across the Group
- Speed and quality of policy updates
- Deviation handling and governance effectiveness
- Cross policy harmonization and usability of guidance
Who you are
You have experience in regulatory interpretation, governance design, harmonization, and change leadership:
- Strong understanding of Privacy (GDPR, other global privacy laws) and AI regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act).
- Ability to translate complex regulatory expectations into clear, practical standards.
- Experience shaping long horizon governance and structures (2–5 year time horizon).

We are looking for a person with Master of Laws (LL.M.) or other academic background and 5-10 years of working experience in this area.
