About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and business-driven leader to join us as Head of Service Growth within the newly created Service Development function within GTO Service Market Logistics (SML).


This critical role is responsible to together with the Brands/Business Areas and the regional SML teams unlocking our service's full potential and supporting its growth. 
The ideal candidate needs to have strategic vision, a customer first mindset and an ability to translate customer needs into logistics solutions and services.
 

The role offers flexible locations in Gothenburg, Greensboro, Lyon, Gent, and Curitiba.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure Service Market Logistics Global Footprint supporting service growth, cost efficiency and reduced environmental impact through footprint design, optimizations and simulations.
  • Drive the development and implementation of SML Segmented Service Offer together with the Brands/Business Areas.
  • Collaborate closely with the Brands/Business Areas to fully grasp the customer needs and challenges and together release untapped potential.
  • Drive Global Logistics Improvement Meetings and connected roadmaps with all Brands/Business Areas
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Supply Chain Design Specialists and Service Developers, fostering a high-performance team spirit and a culture of care.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying skill gaps, providing coaching, and promoting professional development. 
     

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a strategic leader with extensive experience in logistics, service development, business transformation, and operational excellence.
You will bring strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.

Your expertise in stakeholder management and your ability to translate business needs into scalable solutions—especially in developing segmented service offerings—will be critical to your success.

Experience working with one of the Volvo Group’s brands or business areas will be a distinct advantage, ensuring a deep understanding of the brand, business area, dealers, and customers, as well as a strong Customer First mindset. Experience in footprint design and simulations, combined with a strong focus on cost optimization and minimizing environmental impact, will be considered a valuable asset. A comprehensive understanding of Lean principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies, coupled with experience in the Volvo Performance System, will empower you to drive operational efficiency and excellence.


Your proven experience in Change Management, along with a solid foundation in digitalization and data-driven decision-making within logistics, supply chain operations, and services, will be essential.
You will need to engage with senior stakeholders, influence decision-making, and drive impactful results in an ever-evolving, complex environment. A master’s degree or equivalent in a related field is required, along with proficiency in English.
