You are an experienced and visionary service design professional with a deep understanding of how to lead teams, foster collaboration, and embed service design practices at scale. You have a proven track record of building and scaling service design capabilities within large, multi-stakeholder environments, with a focus on aligning customer journeys with business objectives and operational excellence.
As Head of Service Design within Digital & IT, you will play a critical role in elevating the maturity of service design across the organization, ensuring we are set up to deliver cohesive, scalable, and innovative experiences that meet the diverse needs of our multiple business areas and group functions.
You are responsible for:
- Leading and developing a growing team of 10 Service Design specialists, nurturing talent, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Setting the strategic direction for service design, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer needs, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Establishing and scaling end-to-end journey management capabilities across the entire organization, with a focus on creating a cohesive, customer- and user-centric experience. This includes defining the governance, processes, and tools needed to embed journey management as a core capability.
- Building strong connections with digital architects, value streams, and capabilities to ensure that journey management is integrated into the organization’s digital architecture, enabling consistent delivery of experiences aligned with business and technical ecosystems.
- Defining and embedding service design methodologies, frameworks, and tools—such as journey- & impact mapping, service blueprinting, and experience innovation—to support scalable, cross-divisional digital delivery.
- Facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing between service design, digital architecture, product management, and operational teams to foster a cohesive, integrated approach to digital experience development.
- Responsible to ensure Volvo Group brands are consistently supported, keeping their unique identities while aligning at the group level.
- Setting up governance that safeguards brand consistency across journeys while leaving room for brand adaptations.
- Supporting organizational change by translating service design insights into practical strategies that improve efficiency, reduce redundancies, and create long-term value.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating strategic ambitions into actionable service design initiatives that deliver measurable impact.
- Promoting a human-centered mindset and embedding service design principles into organizational processes, decision-making, and delivery models.
You have prior experience with:

Leading and scaling service design teams within large, complex organizations, especially within a digital landscape.
