Position Description
The automotive industry is at the heart of an exciting transformation. In order to lower the impact of its products and services, the industry is evolving its product portfolio towards fossil free solutions. We are proud to be on this exciting journey to implement the Volvo Group long-term targets to be 100% fossil free, 100% safe and 100% more productive. To support this transformation, the electrification of the products initiates a significant decrease in production volumes for the Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), especially in the passenger cars area. As ‘ICE Strategic Business Developer Senior’, your role will be to support the purchasing organization to identify, anticipate and mitigate all the risks related to this on-going transformation.

Part of the ‘ICE Strategic Development’ team, you will have an important role by supporting the purchasing teams to identify the risks impacting their supply partners related to the transition.
To excel in this position, you will need to be well connected with your x-functional stakeholders, with an ability to see the end-to-end perspective at company level. You will also have to manage and be part of several ecosystems, cross-departments, and cross-functions, aiming at maturing our business practices. You will be responsible to develop and drive the strategic area of your business by promoting a strong collaboration between your project team members and Truck Divisions, Brands, Business Areas and Partners, capitalizing on regional inputs towards segment strategies, negotiation tactics and other possible opportunities.

Your role
As ‘ICE Strategic Business Developer’, you will be responsible to support the strategic activities and alignments on the ICE related segments. You will be part of one of the major challenge within the Powertrain & Fossil Free Materials purchasing team.
The ‘ICE Strategic Development’ team will support in any topic related to the ICE evolution trends:
- Segment Business Plans including ICE risk assessment and mitigation planning
- Partnership Agreements
- Supplier industrial risks & opportunities
The ‘ICE Evolution’ team will be a cross-functional team, able to support any of the ICE related segments.
Some key responsibilities and activities will be to:
- Drive ICE Projects among the ICE purchasing segments
- Support segment leaders by deploying the ICE Project methodology on their segments
- Coordinate, facilitate work sessions & help with methodology
- Perform market modellings & market dynamics
- Challenge & provide an outside perspective to support the Segment Leaders
- Develop innovative contract package to support the mitigation plans
- Build a global overview of the outputs from the different deep-dive sessions on different segments, draw global strategies
- Report your findings into X-functional foras and Steering Committees.
- Participate actively to the development of the ‘ICE Strategic Development’ team.
