Volvo Buses is seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our team in Gothenburg. If you have at least 7-8 years of experience in legal practice and are ready to take on new challenges, we want to hear from you!
About the Role: As a Legal Counsel at Volvo Buses, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support and guidance to our business operations. You will be responsible for handling a wide range of legal matters, including contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, and risk management. You will be working closely with the Business Unit Chassis management team, and support in all aspects of the business. Your expertise will help us navigate complex legal landscapes and ensure that our business activities align and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
The Volvo Bus legal & compliance team currently consists of the General Counsel and one legal counsel in Sweden, one legal counsel in Mexico and one legal counsel in Canada, but is also in close collaboration with Volvo Group legal counsels in joint companies in the UK, Latin America and Australia.

The Legal Counsel we are looking for will carry the following core responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice and support on various business activities.
• Manage legal risks and provide solutions to mitigate them.
• Draft, review, and negotiate all kinds of contractual documentation.
• Promote, through advice, guidelines and training, the implementation of the Volvo Group’s Compliance Programs.
• Engage in joint projects with other Legal Counsels in the Volvo Group.
The Legal Counsel we are looking for should have the following qualifications:
• A University degree in law.
• A minimum of 7-8 years of experience from a law firm or as in-house Legal Counsel.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Solid problem-solving abilities and a strong commercial interest.
• A professional attitude, high integrity, creativity and ability to work both independently and as a team player.
• Proficiency in Swedish and English.
