The Property & Project Management Office (PPMO) is a newly established function within the Center of Expertise (CoE) in Group Real Estate (GRE). The PPMO’s mission is to drive excellence in property and project management across Volvo Group Real Estate by providing expert guidance, robust governance, and continuous improvement of our project management practices.
The PPMO brings together a highly skilled team with deep expertise in senior project management, construction, energy, and investment processes. Our team is responsible for setting up and maintaining project management structures for large-scale construction and property investment projects, mentoring and educating project managers, and ensuring best practices are shared and implemented across all GRE divisions.
Job description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Project Manager to join our Property & Project Management Office (PPMO). As a Lead Project Manager in our global PPMO your primary mission is to secure the consistent application of PMO principles and best practices across the project portfolio by coaching, supporting, and developing other project managers. You will play a key role in elevating project management maturity, driving process improvements, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. You will coach other project managers across the world to lead and manage large, complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key responsibilities:
Champion PPMO Standards: Ensure all project managers understand and consistently apply the PPMO’s methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks. Actively contribute to the creation, improvement, and deployment of project management methods, guidelines, and tools.
Coaching & Upskilling: Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to project managers on leading and managing large, complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Facilitate knowledge sharing, onboarding, and professional development within the PPMO community.
Quality Assurance & Project Reviews: Conduct project reviews and audits to ensure compliance with PPMO standards, identify areas for improvement, and promote best practices. Support project managers in problem-solving and navigating complex project challenges.
Process Improvement: Lead or participate in initiatives to continuously improve project management processes, digital tools, and reporting practices. Gather feedback from project managers and stakeholders to refine PPMO processes and drive operational excellence.
Portfolio Oversight: Monitor the overall project portfolio to ensure alignment with business strategy, resource allocation, and delivery against objectives. Support the development and follow-up of portfolio roadmaps, KPIs, and performance metrics.
Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication and collaboration between project managers, business stakeholders, and other support functions. Act as a go-to resource for guidance on project management issues and foster a culture of transparency and continuous learning.
Change Management: Support the adoption of new ways of working, digitalization initiatives, and change management activities within the PPMO and across the GRE project community.
EPI Process Manager: As the Execute Property Investment Process Manager you will be responsible to drive transfer of knowledge, updates, training, best practice sharing and feedback on a global level, and overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of EPI process.
Investment Request Review & Endorsement: Coordinate and lead the review process for investment requests, ensuring all proposals are thoroughly evaluated for compliance with internal guidelines and strategic objectives. Facilitate cross-functional alignment, gather and consolidate feedback, and prepare recommendations for endorsement to secure timely and robust investment approvals.
You will also take part in the continuous improvement journey in order to reach our target image.

To be successful in your new role we want you to have a good understanding of the real estate business. You will also need the following knowledge/experience:
- Master of Science Degree within the area of Property Management/ or Civil Engineering diploma within Construction Management or similar.
- Minimun 10 years of experience in project management, preferably in real estate or infrastructure.
- Proven success in coaching, mentoring or developing project managers.
- Successful global program- or project management experience including governance frameworks, best practices, methodologies, techniques and tools.
- Extensive knowledge of supplier market mechanisms within the construction management area.
- Experience in driving digitalization within your field of work including working with BIM processes.
- Experience in working with change management within organizations.
- Experience with portfolio management, process improvement, and digitalization initiatives.
- Skilled in change management and stakeholder engagement.
You are customer oriented with a drive for results and an ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization with a broad range of stakeholders. Location: The location of the position is in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Travel: Occasional travelling will be required.
