M&A Investment Director
Göteborg, SE, 417 15
Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
Volvo Penta - Gothenburg
Volvo Penta is strengthening its central Strategy & M&A function to support the company’s ambitious growth journey and transformation toward sustainable solutions in marine and industrial applications.
We are now looking for an M&A Investment Director who will play a key role in contributing to and leading strategic initiatives and transactions across the company. This is an important role with clear business impact and close collaboration with senior leadership, offering broad responsibility across the full transaction lifecycle within a global industrial company - while leveraging the strength of the Volvo Group M&A network.
The Role
As M&A Investment Director, you will play an active role in shaping and executing Volvo Penta’s M&A agenda, from identifying opportunities and leading transaction projects to supporting long-term value creation.
You will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and Executive Team, combining solid analytical capabilities with a pragmatic, business-driven approach. You are able to create structure, build alignment, and move topics forward in close collaboration with senior stakeholders. You have hands-on experience with M&A transactions, and particularly valuable experiences would be post-M&A activities such as portfolio governance, integration, and value creation.
This is a role with broad visibility, meaningful influence, and development opportunities in a purpose-driven and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive the consolidation and prioritization of the Volvo Penta M&A pipeline, based on strategic direction and market insights
• Lead or support transaction processes, including target evaluation, due diligence, negotiations, and integration, together with stakeholders in the Volvo Penta organization and in the Volvo Group M&A team
• Perform financial analysis, valuation, and business case development
• Prepare clear, insightful materials for Executive Team and Board discussions
• Contribute to post-acquisition follow-up, integration, and long-term value creation
• Support strategic planning and portfolio development, in close collaboration with senior stakeholders
Your Profile
You are a structured and commercially minded professional with a solid analytical foundation and the ability to turn complex insights into actionable outcomes. You combine drive with humility and thrive in an ambitious and supportive team.
We believe several of the following experiences and capabilities will help you succeed:
• Relevant experience from M&A, preferably from another industrial company
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including valuation and business case development
• Experience with transaction processes and working in multi-stakeholder environments
• Clear and confident communication skills in Swedish and English
• A curious, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset
• Strong skills in PowerPoint and Excel
• A relevant academic degree, for example in Finance, Business, Industrial Engineering, or similar
Just as importantly, you bring a collaborative approach, sound judgment, and a genuine interest in contributing to both team success and long-term business impact.
We value different perspectives and experiences. If this role excites you, even if your background does not match every point above, we encourage you to apply.
