The transport industry is undergoing the largest transformation in decades, maybe even in history. It has never been a more exciting time to work within logistics and transportation. Sustainability, electromobility, and automation are just some of the focus areas in this transformation. We have a unique opportunity to shape the world we want to live in and hand over a better world to the next generation.

This is your chance to join us on our journey and develop together with us, as we are looking for an Operational Technology & Investment Project Buyer located in Gothenburg. You will be part of a regional team, working within the area of Production Equipment Investments. The majority of our stakeholders are located in France, Belgium and Sweden but we also have the global, strategic responsibility for the investment purchasing.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a new role that combines CAPEX investments and Operational Technology.

We value a high level of energy, excellent social skills, a positive spirit and openness for handling the changing environment that we face.

You will be responsible for working closely and jointly with the investment buyers for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement that supports the organization’s Operational Technology (OT) landscape, including digital products that are tied to the various production equipments acquired across the company.

This role ensures that all OT-related purchases (any software components tied to that hardware) are acquired and maintained cost-effectively, securely, and in compliance with technical and cybersecurity standards across their full lifecycle.

You will also be responsible for handling sourcing of CAPEX investments (production equipment) within the area of production and product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and secure the full purchasing cycle for the OT-related and hardware-bound software components and services, focusing on total cost of ownership
  • Manage acquisition of software and licenses directly linked to OT hardware or capital equipment and secure proper license models
  • Drive sourcing activities for investment projects of production equipment
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to validate specifications, ensure technical compatibility, and maintain system integrity
  • Analyze and optimize the supplier base for your area of responsibility
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with our suppliers and stakeholders
  • Drive improvements in purchasing processes

Who are you?

We believe that you are a team player with integrity, a positive mindset and commitment to achieving results. We also think that you have an holistic perspective and practical approach. The ability to navigate ambiguity and remain resilient during challenging times is an essential strength.

As this role focuses on building relationships, negotiating, and guiding others toward effective solutions and working practices, we believe strong networking and analytical skills, along with the capacity to communicate effectively in diverse presentation settings, are important for success.

Desired skills, competencies and experience

  • High energy, positive spirit, and passion for performance
  • Strong continuous improvement skills
  • Holistic view and ability to be pragmatic
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, verbally and in writing
  • Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders
  • Proven background in acquiring production equipment, and/or software licenses and support agreements related to physical assets or capital investments
  • Solid understanding of OT ecosystems, including hardware and associated software or firmware
  • Master of Science or Business Administration (or equivalent)
