Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program

During 15 intense and exciting months, our Operations Graduate Program will give you a holistic view of our operational and logistic activities, including both the local and global perspective. You will be working with the technologies of tomorrow, building the products of the future – electric, connected and automated. In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions.  

 

You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several local and international on the job-rotations and work on business-critical projects developing your competencies for tomorrow. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts and our remanufacturing operations. In addition, you will gather with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

This is us, your new team:

In region Gent-EU we operate the Central Distribution Center in Gent and the Support Distribution Centers across Europe, the Supply Planning teams, Dealer Inventory Management, Service Centers and Transport Management. We work intensively with lean and digitalization.  We support Service Market growth and productivity through flow thinking and cross-functional collaboration.   

 

With our organization we offer Logistics Support and Inventory Management for all European Volvo dealers and customers.  We also perform E2E Management of all flows to European and International DC’s and Customers  

Main activities and responsibilities: 

Our digitalization journey transforms the way we work, which requires us to develop the digitalization competences of our co-workers, how we work internally and how we interface with our dealers across Europe and customers worldwide.  The aim of your role is to boost and accelerate this digitalization journey.    
 

Key responsibilities include:   

  • Build, govern and execute the digitalization roadmap, in line with our strategic ambitions of 2030. 
  • Energize digital competence development and future-readiness of all co-workers in our organization.  
  • Drive office automation through process standardization, RPA’s, AI-solutions and orchestration of all our digital assets. 
  • Secure accessibility of necessary data through collaboration with Digitalization & IT, in SML and on Group level. 
  • Continuously explore emerging technology that might support next leaps forward.  

Who are you?

You have a keen interest in technology, and you get energized by having the opportunity to transform our processes by collaborating with your colleagues and our dealers.  Maybe you don’t know everything yet about process automation, AI and management of big data, but you are a curious and fast learner with a positive mindset, who is eager to share knowledge and put theory into practice.  You enjoy delivering results and having an impact.  You don’t give up; you have an analytical and pragmatic can-do attitude.    

 

Required knowledge/experience :

  • A MSc in Engineering, Economics, Computer Sciences, Management or Logistics  
  • You know about one or several of the following: Process design, information analysis, Robotic Process Automation, Agentic Automation & AI, python, cloud technology and data management. 
  • Maximum two years of previous full-time working experience, prior to or after graduation. Work during studies is not included. 
  • In this truly global program, communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English.  
  • Valid work or study permit for EU if not an EU-citizen.

  • You are passionate about inspiring colleagues and how digitalization can support the team’s and people’s success.    
  • You work together with the management to help set the direction of digitalization. 
  • You feel at ease with not knowing everything, but you are a quick learner.
