This is us, your new colleagues:
At Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S), we drive the future of transport by developing and operating cutting-edge autonomous solutions. As part of the Volvo Group, we are committed to creating a safer, more sustainable, and highly productive transport industry—guided by our ambitions of being 100% Safe, 100% Fossil-Free, and 100% More Productive.
Our foundation is built on safety, passion, collaboration, respect, and trust. We foster an inclusive and diverse workplace where innovation thrives, and every voice matters. Whether you're shaping technology, optimizing operations, or redefining mobility, you’ll find a place here.
The cornerstones for our team are teamwork and engagement, having fun together and supporting each other in our daily work. We value the strength given by differences in background, knowledge, age, gender, and nationality.
We are now looking for a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Specialist to strengthen our team.
This is what you will do:
We are currently introducing new tools to support our technology/product development as well as defining the way we want to run our business to meet the future needs of our customers. An important part of that journey is implementation of an efficient and fit for purpose PLM system – connecting the value chain via tools, competence and ways of working.
We are looking for you who want to be an enabler on that journey and who will provide important expertise and support to our engineers. You will be part of the product documentation team, and you will work closely together with many other stakeholders across our organization, from colleagues at the D&IT department to project managers and other engineering leaders and engineers in the different projects. Some other examples of tasks that you will perform are the following:
- Define the end-to-end PLM strategy and lead the implementation of the strategy.
- Develop and establish a common way of working with product documentation and define requirements on the PLM related systems and methods.
- Provide support to end users in how to create, use and maintain data in CAD and PLM tools.
- Quality-assure the release process from the product documentation perspective. Review and approve Design Change Notice (DCN) in the technical solutions documented in the PLM system.
- Manage product structure with release approval, documentation signoff, and expertise related to the part structure.
- Train our engineers in delivering high-quality product documentation.
- Manage networking across the organization, as well as being a V.A.S. representative in relevant forums within Volvo Group.
Who are you? Are we a perfect match?
We believe that you have knowledge and extensive experience (>10 years) from working with PLM systems and CAD, preferably solutions from PTC (e.g. Windchill and Creo). Previous work with PLM system implementation is beneficial.
You have an outstanding ability to take a holistic perspective and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through high integrity, good communication skills (both written and oral) and leadership. You have a strong drive and are proactive and result oriented and you take great pride in delivering high quality in a timely manner and with a pragmatic approach.
Since you will collaborate with many stakeholders, we believe you are a person with great people skills, who enjoys working with others and developing yourself. You have a positive mind-set and can-do attitude. As a person, you are solution-oriented and enjoy using your structured approach and analytical side. You are also open to working in a completely new context where we together are the motivators to make the future of autonomous transport solutions happen.
Other important qualifications for the position:
- Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge and experience from work with Change Management.
- Experience in driving digital transformation in a constantly changing environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
