Who are we? Within Vehicle Engineering Gothenburg/Vehicle Integration, Product Modification is a team with the responsibility to manage PMRs (Maintenance) for Volvo FH/FM and multibrand. It is a team of highly skilled employees managing the complete Portfolio and also the Operational Product Committee (OPC) and QUEST.

 

Mission

The mission of the portfolio manager is to plan, develop, and maintain the product modification portfolio. This includes both single-brand Volvo initiatives and multibrand initiatives. The goal is to meet and maintain the legal and customer demands for Heavy Duty Vehicle products. It will also require taking the lead in multifunctional initiatives, driving the work until completion.  

 

Portfolio Manager Key Responsibilities:

As a Portfolio Manager within Product Modification, you will have an important part in the prioritization and communication of new initiatives within the defined portfolio.

  • Lead and manage product modification projects, from initiation to delivery, ensuring project goals are met within time, budget, and quality constraints.
  • Contribute to product modification portolio management, including work planning priorities in collaboration with stakeholders for resource securement.
  • Support the QUEST manager in the product modification team with handling the inflow of new initiatives.
  • Manage complex multifunction initiatives together with Vehicle Engineering and Technology Stream
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of way of working.
  • Work with budget analysis work.

 

Your role will involve engaging with a diverse range of colleagues across our global sites. You will contribute to selecting the best design and system for their intended purposes. Strong networking skills will be essential to succeed in this position.

Who are you?

Qualifications:

 

  • Proven experience in portfolio management with stakeholders in cross-functional areas with the capability to independently meet and sort different needs and priorities.
  • Experience in the early phase of product development is essential, while experience in trucks or automotive is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex circumstances and the bigger picture in a way that is easily understood and credible to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with internal Volvo systems and documentation systems is beneficial.
  • A background in engineering or a related field is preferred.
