What you will do


As the Product Build Project Leader, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the successful delivery of test objects across all project phases. This includes overseeing planning, budgeting, reporting, documentation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan and manage Product Builds activities and deliveries in the physical build process.
  • Create, anchor and follow-up build plans (estimation, construction, modification) for the physical test objects.
  • Estimate and manage the budget for Product Builds section resources.
  • Communicate relevant functions on expected deliveries according to the high-level build time plan for the physical test objects.
  • Chair meetings on test object builds and report material status and progress.
  • Support test object specification and ordering, initiate and review Bills of Material (BoM), ensure BoM accuracy, and oversee part procurement and delivery.
  • Request build locations and resources, lead and monitor the build process.
  • Continuously improving processes and ways of working.



Your future team


The Product Build (PB) section is part of the Complete Vehicle function at Volvo Group Trucks Technology. Within Powertrain Engineering & Electromobility (PE & Emob), we are experienced Project Leaders who manage the physical build process of Powertrain and Electromobility components. Our mission is to ensure the successful delivery of these components for complete truck assembly, as well as for system and component testing. Working with products in early development, we proactively drive the actions needed—within our team or across functions—to deliver test objects on time and fulfill project requirements.

Who are you?


To succeed in this role, you have strong project management skills and several years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar position. You demonstrate effective leadership, networking, and communication skills, along with proficiency in conflict management. Your proactive problem-solving approach and decision-making drive the team's success.
 
You excel at building relationships, recognizing limitations, and confidently asserting your perspective when needed. Leading through others and fostering collaboration are essential aspects of the role. Additionally, you are comfortable presenting information and have a structured mindset for managing tasks and guiding teams toward shared goals.
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, industrial, or production engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role within Product Development, ideally in vehicle technology and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in tools and systems such as Kola, Protom, Gloria, and DVP Process is a plus.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is highly advantageous
