Role and responsibilities
The department Electromobility is part of the product development organization of Volvo Group Trucks Technology in Gothenburg. Within the Electromobility department we work with development of electromobility systems and components such as energy storage, motor drives and charging solutions for Volvo group products. The organization develops and drives the Electromobility product portfolio for Trucks, Buses, Construction Equipment and Marine applications. Furthermore, we create opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group.
About our team
We are responsible for the inhouse application software development of the charging functions. We ensure functionality and uptime of the charging management system and we’re building the charging software with commonalities for the full electrified product range within Volvo. Trucks, Buses, Construction machines and Penta applications all use our platform. We develop and test new functions in simulations, on-target ECUs, HIL, trucks and buses.

The responsibility covers leading a cross functional team to design and develop the future charging platform that fulfills the customer end products. That includes lead the microcontrollers selection process, communication protocols, ECUs, HW, consider cybersecurity, certificates handling and where to allocate the different HW and SW functions.
Who are you?
We are looking for a Product Engineer Lead, Charging, who is highly collaborative. You also value the customer’s perspective and high expectations using Volvo’s premium products in your daily business. Experience from the automotive industry, embedded systems is necessary for this role. You have knowledge of embedded software development.
You must have the following:
• Relevant B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering
• High knowledge on Charging Standards: CCS, V2G.
• Strong aptitude in abstract thinking, system theoretic analysis
• Minimum five years of experience within automotive industry.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Experience on Microcontrollers selection
• Experience on automotive communication protocols: CAN, Ethernet, SPI…
Meritorious:
• Knowledge on Charging Standards: MCS, OppCharge, GBT, Chademo, PnC
• Cybersecurity on Automotive
• Experience using Simulink, CANalyzer
• Understanding of the Truck/ Bus customers.
• Enthusiastic to engage, inspire and help others
• A team player
• European driver’s license for Truck and/or Bus
