Shape the Future of Data-Driven RnD at Volvo Group

Are you passionate about transforming how organizations manage and use data? Do you thrive in driving complex programs with cross-functional impact? Do you believe that data, when governed and used right, can fuel innovation, safety, and sustainability?

At Volvo Group Trucks Technology, we are in the middle of a digital leap — transforming how we use Product Generated Data (PGD) to power decisions, enable AI-driven solutions, and optimize vehicle and R&D performance. We're looking for a Program Manager to lead our PGD Management Program: a strategic, multistream effort to redefine data governance, tool adoption, foundational data products, and digital ways of working across our R&D and product organizations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the execution of a program that touches the core of vehicle data, governance, and transformation — while working with some of the brightest minds in automotive, data, and digital.

What you will do

As Program Manager, you will be the end-to-end owner of the PGD data management program — from translating strategy into roadmaps, to structuring workstreams, orchestrating cross-functional execution, and ensuring program-level impact and outcomes. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineering, governance, and AI teams to build a scalable, effective, and business-aligned data ecosystem.

Your Key Responsibilities

•    Lead the PGD data management program from strategy through execution, ensuring value delivery.
•    Translate strategy into actionable workstreams, prioritizing initiatives and structuring program milestones.
•    Coordinate multiple workstream leads, ensuring alignment, progress, and dependency management.
•    Drive PGD governance, catalog, and tooling rollout, including onboarding, training, and adoption activities.
•    Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product managers, and data governance to ensure integrated delivery.
•    Manage risks, resources, and stakeholder communication, maintaining momentum and program visibility.

Who are you?

Required Qualifications

•    Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or similar field.
•    5 + years of program management experience in data-intensive environments (automotive, R&D, digital, or AI domains).
•    Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional programs with high visibility and impact.
•    Deep experience in data governance, data product development, or enterprise-wide data strategy execution.

Key Competencies

•    Strong stakeholder leadership: ability to lead across teams and influence without formal authority.
•    Excellent communication, facilitation, and change management skills.
•    Systems thinking and a structured problem-solving approach.
•    Understanding of automotive R&D structures, digital governance frameworks, or enterprise data architectures is a plus.
•    Energy, curiosity, and resilience to thrive in a fast-moving and transformation-driven organization.

What’s in it for you?

•    The opportunity to lead a high-impact transformation program in a global, data-rich environment.
•    Access to cutting edge automotive, AI, and data governance initiatives.
•    A strategic role with visibility to senior leadership and influence over future data capabilities.
•    A collaborative, purpose-driven, and innovative workplace that values inclusiveness and empowerment.
•    The chance to leave a lasting mark on how Volvo Group uses data to design the sustainable vehicles of tomorrow.
