We are Thermal Management Team:

 

Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg & Bangalore and we have close cooperation with the sites in Greensboro and Lyon. 

 

Join the Thermal Management Sub Stream, within the Vehicle Motion and Thermal Management department. Embark on the journey to develop the future Volvo Group Thermal Management systems and functions.  

Who are you?

On our exciting adventure to develop the future at Volvo Group, we are now looking for dynamic and experienced leaders – our new Section Manager - Data Simulation Verification in the Thermal Management Leadership team .

Then, join the Thermal Management Sub Stream within the Vehicle Motion and Thermal Management organization.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications and requirements:-

  • M.Sc in Mechatronics or Computer Science engineering or similar 
  • Several years of leadership experience, including the line management positions
  • Several years of experience in product development within the automotive industry
  • Several years of experience in development/testing of complex systems (including Functional and performance testing at SIL/HIL rigs or Vehicles)
  • Experience in the field of Thermal Management engineering or vehicle drivelines
  • Experience with Thermal Management system Verification/Validation (simulation, rig testing, truck testing)
  • Good knowledge of Truck / Car complex systems and Thermal Management (ICE-BEV-Fuel cell drivelines, cab climate)
  • Experience working in a global environment with several sites and external partners 

Role and Responsibilities

In this role as a Section manager, you will fulfill the following responsibilities:-

 

  • Drive the implementation and execution of the Thermal Management (TM) strategy at the section level.
  • Strategy and Planning: Break down TM strategy into actionable plans and secure deliveries according to short and mid-term portfolio goals (1-5 years).
  • Secure our Thermal Management department Digital Transformation (Roadmap and Implementation)
  • Develop and implement our thermal management verification architecture strategy and improvement roadmap
  • Budget Management: Contribute to the TM budget by providing accurate inputs for section budgeting.
  • Process Implementation: Implement TM enablers and ensure smooth flow between groups, securing effective cross-section working groups.
  • Issue Resolution: Address roadblocks that have not been resolved at the group level.
  • Section Oversight: Oversee section strategies, deliveries, and quality.
  • Workforce Planning: Plan and implement workforce strategies (internal/external) to meet section capacity needs.
  • Team Development: Foster the growth and development of your section and team members through an innovation culture and fun place to work.
  • Networking: Maintain and develop networks within GTT Thermal teams as well as Penta, Bus, and VCE Thermal groups.
