Job Summary:

Drive our agile security engineering efforts as the Security Delivery Lead in our Cyber Defense Center (CDC). Oversee and guide a team of engineers to deliver high-quality security solutions, including threat detection engineering, response automation, and threat intelligence orchestration. 

 

Responsibilities include managing the backlog, organizing work items, facilitating sprint planning, and ensuring optimal resource allocation. You will act as the bridge between technical engineers, CDC management, and external stakeholders, ensuring that security deliverables are aligned with business needs and priorities. 

 

You will also play a key role in optimizing our security engineering processes and building technical mechanisms to improve productivity and scalability. This includes designing and implementing solutions for case handling, content lifecycle management, and develop integrations between the various security tools used within the CDC. Leveraging your deep understanding of our infrastructure, you will also advise on architectural decision-making regarding our solutions. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Agile Delivery: 
    • Own and manage the CDC engineering backlog, ensuring that it is up-to-date and reflects relevant prioritization based on business value, risk, and operational needs
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into well-defined epics, features, and user stories.
    • Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
    • Work closely with Lead and Senior Engineers to ensure the team has the capacity and resources to deliver on sprint commitments.
    • Track progress against sprint goals and identify any roadblocks or impediments.
  • Capacity Management: 
    • Ensure optimal use of our engineers based on prioritization and available skills.
    • Work with management on identifying capacity forecast and usage (velocity).
  • Security Liaison for Engineering: 
    • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding CDC engineering deliverables.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders on sprint progress, backlog updates, and any changes to delivery timelines.
    • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure their needs are incorporated into the backlog and delivery process.
  • Tactical and Operational Planning
    • Contribute to the development and execution of the CDC's strategic roadmap.
    • Define and track metrics and KPIs for team performance.
    • Participate in budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Operationalization: 
    • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that security solutions are effectively operationalized and integrated into existing security workflows.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing security solutions.
  • Architectural Guidance: 
    •  Leverage your deep understanding of our infrastructure to advise lead engineers on architectural decision-making.
  • Process Optimization and Automation: 
    • Design, develop, and implement technical solutions to optimize security engineering processes, including ticketing handling, content lifecycle management, and tool integrations
    • Automate key processes to improve efficiency and scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • 10+ years of experience in IT security with a strong understanding of security engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies (XDR, EDR, NDR, IDM, email security).
  • Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Proven experience in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and backlog management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of threat intelligence and incident response processes.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Agile certifications).
