What you will do
As a Senior Automation Analyst you will play a key role in designing and implementing automated control systems to streamline processes to enhance operational efficiency and improving process quality. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Your starting point will be to, together with your colleagues at VFS and in the broad cross-functional network at the Volvo Group, take responsibilities in the following areas:
• Work with analytics practitioners around VFS to develop and share best practices in areas of robotic process automation, scripting, and leveraging data lake technology to automate manual processes.
• Develop and deploy automation solutions to streamline internal control processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Create systems that identify, track, and escalate process exceptions, enabling efficient management by exception and minimizing manual intervention.
• Analyze existing workflows within internal controls to identify opportunities for automation, reducing operational inefficiencies and control gaps.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design robust automated control frameworks aligned with risk management strategies and regulatory requirements.
• Leverage technologies such as RPA (Robotic Process Automation), AI, and data analytics to enhance the accuracy and scalability of internal controls.
• Conduct rigorous testing of automated controls to ensure reliability, accuracy, and adherence to predefined standards.
• Oversee the performance and functionality of automated internal control systems, troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements as needed.
• Work closely with IT, finance, risk, and compliance teams to align automation initiatives with broader organizational goals.
• Create comprehensive documentation for automated processes and provide training to internal control staff on new systems and tools.
• Provide automated control data and insights to support internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and adherence to financial standards.
• Identify emerging automation technologies and trends to enhance the internal control environment and drive process innovation.
• Automate the data collection process for the control self-assessment questionnaires process including Internal Control Framework Questionnaires, VICS, and Fraud Self-Assessment
• Provide analytical solutions and dashboard reports for the data collected from the self-assessment questionnaires to improve the visibility and risk alert for senior management and key stakeholders in the Regions and in the Local Markets
• Optimize the Operational Control deficiency lifecycle management process with latest technology solution to improve the current Deficiency Database, Tracking, Recording, Reporting and Dashboard analysis
• Ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of the finance department, Chief Credit Officer, Communications VP, etc.

We believe the successful candidate has a strong technical expertise in automation tools and data analytics, combined with a deep understanding of financial systems and regulatory requirements. They are analytical problem-solvers with excellent attention to detail, capable of designing efficient automated controls. With exceptional communication and collaboration skills, they can engage cross-functional teams, adapt to dynamic environments, and deliver measurable results that drive continuous improvement in internal control processes.
Qualifications likely required to be successful in this role include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in automation, internal controls, or financial systems are a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, process optimization, or a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Experience using AI and Machine Learning technology in financial services applications is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense.
• Ability to understand the business process and design process flow diagrams.
• Proficiency in automation tools such as RPA (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBA, SQL).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, APIs, and system integration
• Understanding of internal controls and governance frameworks (e.g., COSO, SOX compliance).
• Knowledge of financial systems, ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and their control environments.
• Expert level experience using SQL to extract and transform large and complex datasets into more easily consumable formats.
• Experience collaborating with business partners, and IT department to provide a strong oversight to support and maintain scripts in production ensuring high resilience and availability.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve goals with minimum supervision.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English; additional languages a plus.
