What you will do

At Group Digital & IT, you will contribute to the digital transformation of our company, the transport industry, and society at large. You will:
 

Data is the core component of the Volvo Group's digital transformation journey. In Group Digital & IT, we deliver value by fulfilling business needs within different data and analytics domains, in close collaboration with our key stakeholders and users

 

As a Senior Data Engineer, your key responsibilities would be to:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
  • Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines for processing and transformation using Azure services and Databricks.
  • Build and develop transformations logic in Databricks for advanced data processing.
  • Set up and manage DevOps environments from scratch – including configurations, CI/CD pipelines, releases, deployments, and hotfixes.
  • Write clean, efficient code in SQL, Python, PySpark, and scripting languages.
  • Design and author Power BI dashboards
  • Integrate APIs and systems, and connect AI models to enterprise workflows.
  • Collaborate actively in an Agile environment, ensuring transparency and engagement.
  • Handle multiple projects in parallel.
     

Your future team
 

You will be part of a high performing team of skilled data professionals, such as Data Architects, Data Engineers & Data Analysts. You will closely collaborate with Digital Product Managers and Owners from Volvo Energy. Your team and stakeholders are spread across different locations.
 

This role is based in Göteborg, Sweden, and requires you to work on-site at our office.

Skills & Experience Required:

 

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering and pipeline implementation.
  • Proven expertise in Azure DevOps, Databricks, and Git.
  • Advanced coding and troubleshooting skills in SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Strong experience in API/system integration and AI model integration.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to engage with business stakeholders independently.
  • Experience working in Agile setups.
  • Proficiency in data modelling and Power BI dashboard development.
  • Positive, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude.

 

Nice to Have:

 

  • Experience in automation and shell scripting.
