Infrastructure & Onsite Services (IOS) 


Infrastructure & Onsite Services is in charge of all Volvo Group Digital & IT infrastructure services. As the majority of these services are delivered by a partner, the mission is focused on governing and controlling this partner, as well as managing the remaining IT infrastructure delivery teams in Volvo.  

 

Application Services 


Application Governance is part of the Application Services department within IOS.  

The team is divided into two functions/teams: 
Application Operations & SAP Services and Application Compliance Management  

We are now looking for a Service Leader within the Application Operations and SAP Services team

In this role you will be reporting to the Service Area Manager of Application Operations & SAP Services within Volvo Group Digital & IT Infrastructure & Onsite Services/Application Services. Our team ensures effective governance and reliable operation of business applications for our organization and its users, by delivering secure, compliant and seamless services that support business growth.  

You will operate in a global context, interfacing with Volvo stakeholders, outsourcing partners, strategic and tactical partners. The team also plans and chairs the operational, tactical and strategic meetings with our Infrastructure supplier and Volvo Group Digital & IT Functions. 

Key responsibilities Application Operations and SaaS applications governance

Oversee the full process from early phase of Procurement of application to finalization of the actual onboarding of application in runtime by: 

 

  • Ensuring that SaaS applications are onboarded and integrated to Volvo correctly, by securing connectivity  
  • Ensuring that SaaS applications are onboarded according to architecture principles (North Star compliancy) by collaborating with Security and Architecture Teams 
  • Ensuring governance and operation together with Service Integrator and Service Provider

 

As a Service Leader you will be: 

 

  • Responsible for the delivery of the portfolio of infrastructure services for Application Operations and ensuring that all services are delivered according to contracted supplier obligations based on service levels, cost, volumes and quality 
  • Monitoring the actual services levels, control that they are in line with targeted services levels and manage corrective actions with supplier(s) 
  • Participating in selected runtime process interactions with supplier(s): releases and deployments oversight, handling escalations regarding owned services and being responsible for continuous improvement of the services and of the operational process interactions between Volvo and partner companies 
  • Participate and/or lead initiatives and projects in areas of responsibility 
  • Managing escalation between IOS/Application Services and Application teams.  
  • Proposing improved Application services and delivery setup for the unit/s 
  • Being accountable for the interaction model between Volvo and supplier(s) stakeholders; ensuring that operational layer is functioning according to scope and owning the tactical and strategic layers/meetings between the Volvo Group Digital & IT function, IOS and supplier Service roadmaps, development, architecture and innovation 
  • Together with the rest of the AOM team, manage the full lifecycle of AOM service within Application Operations, for example: Roadmap/development/architecture/security/budget/enhancement/innovation/end-user services catalogue/implementation/policies and directives and strategic directions based on business requirements and priority from other D&IT functions and Foundational Product functions 
  • Contribute to Foundational Products (within Technology) functions strategy and plans within DevSecOps and SAP COE
  • Outsourcing partnership management: financial, contractual and commercial management 
  • Forecast, define and follow-up service delivery budgets and runtime cost budgets for whole outsourcing scope of own area 
  • Secure input to contractual negotiations to modify, clarify or optimize the services provided by the supplier(s) and potentially with sub-suppliers or other direct Volvo suppliers of infrastructure services, software or hardware. 
  • Formal validation of supplier invoices and in case of discrepancies ensure corrections, drive volume and cost optimization 
  • Manage suppliers' relationship related to services development and deliveries both with main outsourcing partner and other partners

Required competencies and experience

  • University/master's degree or equivalent in relevant area 
  • Service oriented mindset and business mindset  
  • Experience of governance: directing, planning and monitoring of IS/IT services 
  • Experience from functional management in a global context  
  • Strong experience within Application Operations and/or SAP services 
  • Experience with steering of projects and programs 
  • Knowledge and experience of ITIL (SIAM is a plus) 
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills  
  • Ability to negotiate with several parties, and navigate easily in different organization 
  • Complete proficiency in English
