The mission of Software Platforms within the Embedded Software Factory is to provide the best in class embedded software platforms & technologies that enable software-driven transport solutions for the Volvo Group. We are responsible for the complete life cycle, from strategy to maintenance of the on-board software platforms.
In our software design team, focusing on Linux platform development, Hypervisor, and integration, we work in an agile Scrum environment. Being part of an agile team means participating in daily meetings, staying present and engaged, and contributing actively through collaboration and team activities.
What you will do
As a Software & Verification Engineer, you will become an expert in software platforms on classic/adaptive AUTOSAR, and/or Linux/QNX hypervisor, and base software development. You will be part of a new journey in Vehicle Technology, in an important role in development, testing, and implementing groundbreaking software solutions for automotive applications.
One key area of new testing and verification will be responsibility and development of cybersecurity testing methods for the new platform developed in the Embedded Software Factory. You will learn to design the impact of new cybersecurity requirements and develop suitable testing strategies, and use-cases, in this area of Hypervisor and Linux development, in the platform core system.
Additionally, you will be:
- Responsible for delivering, designing, and driving test cases and regression testing, as well as ensuring that testing and verification documentation is done.
- The initial point of contact for your development team’s testing deliveries.
Who are you?
You are a Software Developer at the beginning of your journey within embedded software development, driven by a passion for automotive technology, CI/CD, and modern integration methodologies. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment where you can contribute to regression testing, investigate software bugs, and continuously improve the team’s development and testing scope.
You take pride in designing well-structured test cases and ensuring high-quality software, both in your own work and within your team. With excellent analytical skills and a strong problem-solving mindset, you approach challenges with curiosity and collaboration, always striving to enhance the development process and deliver robust solutions.
Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on experience and interest in working with Linux, and open-source operating systems.
- Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Embedded C.
- Good understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Broad understanding of programming concepts, compilers, file management systems, and revision management.
- Practical experience from multiple projects and experienced challenges with handling digitally created dependencies, due to revision tracking and software interference connections.
