Solution Architect for Tomorrow’s Factories
As a Solution Architect within Manufacturing, you will be central to Volvo Group’s digital transformation, shaping the solutions that power the factories of tomorrow. You will help us reimagine how technology enables smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable manufacturing across the world.
You will take ownership of our manufacturing solution portfolio and work side by side with a community of architects, engineers, and business experts. Together, you will translate ideas into reality, connecting strategy with execution and ensuring every digital initiative creates measurable value for our operations.
A Solution Architect acts as the technical strategist and guide—the one who sees the big picture, understands the details, and creates architectural solutions that enhance business efficiency and future-readiness. You combine strategic vision with tactical execution to ensure our digital architecture supports long-term growth and agility.
Key Responsibilities
Your days will be dedicated to exploration, creation, and collaboration. You will:
- Lead the evolution of our capabilities and value streams, defining and implementing digital strategies that improve manufacturing processes.
- Analyze business needs and translate them into actionable architectural direction.
- Design and implement end-to-end solutions that balance innovation, stability, and future scalability across the entire technology landscape.
- Ensure that all systems work seamlessly together, from user experience to infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Engineers, aligning technological choices with strategic business goals.
- Guide and mentor teams, helping them adopt modern development practices and architectural thinking.
- Ensure every solution we create is built to last: secure, scalable, and aligned with our long-term digital vision.
Your background
- We are seeking a candidate with proven experience and expertise in the following mandatory areas:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Solution Architect in a large, complex, and global enterprise environment.
- Deep and demonstrable understanding of end-to-end manufacturing processes (including Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, and Warehousing).
- Proven track record of designing, implementing, and governing solutions leveraging both COTS/SaaS platforms and custom-developed systems.
- Strong technical command of architectural best practices for security, scalability, and performance.
- Fluent professional proficiency in English (both written and verbal) is required for global collaboration.
- Willingness to work closely with operations and spend time at the factory level to ensure solutions meet real-world production needs.
