Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
Project Description
The Volvo Trucks plant in Tuve, Gothenburg produces heavy trucks of the models FH16, FH, FM and FMX. The high level of product diversity poses challenges for the work to ensure the quality of the trucks. For various reasons some parts of the vehicle are not assembled in the plant and instead included in the delivery as “enclosed parts”. The plant management wants to reduce the number of claims related to these parts missing or being damaged.
Task:
Collaborate with the quality and engineering teams to investigate the current process and available quality data related to enclosed parts. Propose new methods and process changes to reduce the number of quality claims based on academic theory and proven concepts from similar cases found during the investigation.
The goal is to have a process that ensures and verifies the quality of delivery to our customers.
We require the work to be performed by a team of two students. Please state the name of your partner in your application.
Applicants without partner will not be considered.
Location will be the assembly plant in Tuve, Gothenburg. The students are expected to spend most of the time on-site, collaborating with the plant staff. Therefore, we require at least one student to speak Swedish.
