The VIE, International Voluntary Abroad, is a French international corporate placement program for young professionals between the age of 18 and 28 who are European Union nationals. Located in Sweden, Gothenburg , Our Legal & Compliance Team is increasing, and we wish for a new colleague in the form of a legal V.I.E. assignment to join the team for a period of 13 months (with a possible prolongation up to 24 months in total). Your workday and responsibilities will vary, but we promise that the successful candidate will feel empowered by a sense of purpose when helping our Legal & Compliance Team prosper.
What you will do
At Volvo Penta, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry, and society at large.
You will participate in and support all areas of Volvo Penta’s Legal & Compliance activities, working closely with colleagues to provide legal expertise for sales and purchasing agreements, distribution agreements, litigation management, risk evaluations, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, and the full compliance scope, including trainings and the use of internal compliance tools.
Your workday will be varied and dynamic, offering you the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of commercial activities and to help implement Volvo Group Compliance Programmes.
You will collaborate with team members across cultures and time zones, gaining a 360-degree perspective of the business and making a tangible impact on our journey towards sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions.
Your future team
You will join a dedicated Legal & Compliance Team of eight professionals, including a General Counsel, lawyers, an executive assistant in Sweden, and colleagues in the US. Our team is known for its collaborative spirit, diverse backgrounds, and commitment to supporting all aspects of Volvo Penta’s business. We value open communication, continuous learning, and a shared drive to deliver customer success.

Essential requirements:
- A university law degree or Master of Law, with eligibility for the V.I.E. program
- A professional attitude, high integrity, and the ability to work both independently and as a team player
- Strong work ethic and the ability to manage and progress multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and English language skills
- Previous work experience in a legal or compliance role
- Curiosity for developing and learning within a global Legal & Compliance Team
- Creativity and a spirit of cooperation
