Lead the way in Digital Foundations

Digital Foundations are obsessed with software excellence to drive platforms and products performance. The guardrails from enterprise architecture, IT Operations and Quality and Enterprise Cybersecurity are turned into code by Digital Foundations, consumed through toolchains by platforms, and products that are built on platforms.

By empowering platforms and product teams with strong foundations, we enable faster, safer, and higher quality software delivery in digital and embedded software. Our focus is on enhancing the software experience through intuitive tools, streamlined workflows, and intelligent automation.

This is how you’ll make an impact

The Head of Software Engineering Practice and Collaboration Excellence is a people leader role, reporting to SVP Digital Foundations, responsible for defining, promoting, and driving adoption of modern software development best practices across the organization. The role acts as a catalyst for professionalizing software development by establishing standards, enabling teams, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution aligned with business goals.

Key responsibilities will include:

•    Establish and continuously improve software development standards, principles, and ways of working (e.g., DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native development, security-by-design, test automation), translating strategic objectives into practical development practices and guidelines.
•    Actively support product and development teams in adopting new tools, practices, and methodologies by identifying adoption barriers, working hands-on with teams to remove them, and providing coaching and guidance to developers, tech leads, and engineering managers.
•    Develop enablement of materials such as playbooks, reference architectures, and learning paths, while partnering with leadership to ensure alignment between organizational goals and engineering practices.
•    Build and nurture communities of practice across software development disciplines, facilitating knowledge sharing, internal forums, and best-practice exchanges, and championing a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and engineering excellence.
•    Act as a bridge between strategy, architecture, security, and delivery teams, defining metrics to track adoption, maturity, and impact of software development practices through Dashboard, and using data and feedback to continuously refine practices and improve outcomes.

Who are you?

Who are you?

As a leader, you drive change and introduce new ways of working in close collaboration with others. Strategy is translated into a meaningful direction for the team, and trust is built through transparent conversations. You develop and empower others by motivating and encouraging them to be daring. Ownership is taken, and real impact is driven through strong business and customer insights.

 We believe you bring:

•    A university degree or equivalent, with several years of experience leading people or leaders, preferably in software development; supported by a strong background in modern software development and engineering practices and acting as a role model for those practices.
•    Hands-on technical credibility with strong communication skills, able to influence without direct authority and communicate clearly at both technical and executive levels.
•    Proven experience driving change and adoption across multiple teams, with a passion for continuous improvement, developer experience, and proactively identifying improvement opportunities and driving them to execution.
•    Experience with engineering/productivity metrics.
•    Experience establishing and nurturing communities of practice to foster knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous learning.
