What you will do
At Volvo Group Digital & IT you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. As a passionate and skilled developer in the Mobile/XR chapter you will work in global and cross-functional teams to develop software solutions. You will combine best practices and developed solutions with innovative thinking to create new digital products. You will contribute to and in some cases lead the development of applications that are used both internally by our colleagues and externally by our customers. You will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of technologies from immersive VR experiences to 3D on the web and everything in between.
You will work closely with stakeholders and fellow developers to be in line with changing business needs. You will contribute to XR applications that change the way we do business and set standards for our future development.
Key responsibilities:
• Contribute to, and in some cases, lead the development of XR/3D solutions for Volvo Group in an agile way
• Create and Leverage established best practices to create scalable and sustainable products
• Design, contribute to, and drive solution architecture where needed
• Set new standards and provide documentation where appropriate
• Collaborate with third party suppliers to develop solutions
• Share best practices and innovations with the larger practitioner community
• Mentor junior colleagues and continuously learn/develop your skills in the Mobile & XR domain

You are a passionate, innovative, and driven software engineer with senior experience of XR development. Building successful software solutions and solving new challenges motivates and energizes you. You learn fast and approach problems with solution-oriented thinking. You collaborate well with others and can thrive in multi-cultural & multi-disciplinary teams. Using cutting edge technology to solve both old and new problems excites you.
Desired skills:
• Senior level knowledge of Unity 3D and C# in the context of software development required
• Performance tuning and optimization skills required
• Knowledge of deploying Unity 3D applications and XR applications to multiple platforms required
• Experience with building and deploying AR applications required
• Experience working with standard 3D asset workflows and CAD to 3D workflows is a plus
• Experience building for and deploying to VR headsets is desired
• Experience working with API’s and API integration is desired
• Experience with Cloud storage, Azure DevOps, and source code control is desired
• Relevant University degree in Computer Science or similar experience
• Excellent proficiency in English is a requirement
