£1000 signing bonus offered!  Direct applicants only

 

Competitive Basic Rate £18-£20 per hour with Overtime Opportunities | 40.5 hours basic week 

 

Shift Pattern on Rotational Basis supporting a worklife balance! 

Week 1  Monday - Wednesday 19.00 -  07.00 | Thursday 19.00 to 01.00 

Week 2  Tuesday  - Thursday 19.00  - 07.00 | Friday 19.00 -01.00

 

 

What you will do

You’ll be expected to have technical and practical competency when it comes to the repair and maintenance of HGVs, and you must be able to effectively communicate at all levels on a written and verbal basis. You should be flexible enough to adapt to new processes and develop new skills when required and participate in training and development activities. We’ll also expect you to be an active member of our busy team, while being competent enough to develop new working processes, or to enhance current ones.

 

The Role! Just a few of the things you will get involved with! 

You will be equipped to carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly. 

  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process 
  • Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets. 
  • Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license) 
  • Assist with roadside breakdowns. 
  • Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
  • Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
  • Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained. 
  • Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices.  

 

 

Who are you?

You’ll hold a City and Guilds, an NVQ3 or an equivalent qualification. You’ll also have completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry, or have equivalent experience, along with relevant experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
A basic knowledge of computer software packages including Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred, as is a general level of computer literacy.
Finally, we’d expect you to have a basic working knowledge of vehicle technology.
