Volvo Group North America (VGNA) is seeking an execution-focused leader to manage internal and external events, corporate engagement and community impact initiatives. As part of the Greensboro-based Corporate Communications team, this manager-level position requires strong critical thinking and organizational skills, advanced PowerPoint capability and strong visual storytelling expertise.

 

The Corporate Engagement & Events Manager serves as the primary owner of corporate events and leads the execution of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.. This role strengthens employee engagement, brand reputation and measurable community impact across key focus areas including Quality of Life; Environmental Sustainability; Safety; and Education & Workforce Development.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

This portfolio includes executive communications, full-scale corporate event management, charitable partnerships, employee engagement initiatives, and analytics and reporting, 
Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, this role will:

 

Corporate Event Strategy & Execution 
•    Lead end-to-end logistics planning and execution of town halls, leadership meetings, employee engagement initiatives, volunteer recognition events and major corporate announcements.
•    Manage venue sourcing, vendor negotiations, contracts, logistics, A/V, catering, travel coordination and run-of-show development.
•    Own event budgets, forecasting, reconciliation and post-event analysis.
•    Develop executive briefings and presentation materials.
•    Establish and maintain an annual engagement and event calendar to proactively manage workload, resources and budget forecasting.
•    Elevate the quality, consistency and strategic impact of employee experiences.

 

Executive Communications & Creative Development
•    Develop executive-level PowerPoint presentations with strong visual design and data visualization, adhering to established brand guidelines.
•    Draft clear, compelling internal communications aligned with leadership priorities.
•    Create polished, brand-consistent materials using Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Suite (preferred).
•    Translate complex strategies and metrics into visually engaging narratives.

 

Corporate Engagement & Corporate Social Responsibility
•    Partner with leadership to define and execute strategic goals, partnerships and KPIs.
•    Manage VGNA’s charitable giving portfolio, including partnerships, compliance, forecasting and impact reporting.
•    Support employee volunteer and engagement programs at the Greensboro headquarters.
•    Oversee CSR platform management (e.g., Benevity / Volvo Gives Back) and related vendors.
•    Translate program data into executive-ready reports and visual dashboards.

 

Global & Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Coordinate regional CSR initiatives with the global CSR team and contribute best practices.
•    Build strong partnerships across Communications, People & Culture and business leadership.
•    Serve as a proactive, independent critical thinker who anticipates challenges and delivers solutions.

 

Additional Requirements
•    Occasional evening/weekend work to support events.
•    Occasional travel throughout the year.

Qualifications and Skills
•    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Sustainability or related field required; master’s degree a plus.
•    6-10+ years of experience in corporate communications, CSR, community engagement or event management.
•    Corporate or B2B experience strongly preferred.

 

Technical & Professional Skills
•    Demonstrated ownership of complex corporate event planning and execution.
•    Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
•    Demonstrated ability to build executive-level presentations from scratch; portfolio or work samples will be requested.
•    Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into visual insights.
•    Strong writing skills with executive-level polish.
•    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
•    Experience managing budgets and vendor negotiations.

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $96,000.00 - $118,500.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
