Financial Digitalization Analyst

Location:

Greensboro, NC, US, 27409

Position Type:  Professional

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

What you will do

Volvo Financial Services (VFS) is the captive finance arm of the Volvo Group, financing the trucks, equipment and services that keep our customers moving. The Truck Business Control team is the finance and digital team embedded in the Truck channel — a dedicated finance and analytics partner that helps the channel see and steer its business, from the total channel down to region, dealer and customer economics.

We are hiring a Finance Digitalization Analyst — the most technical role on the team. You will build the digital layer the channel runs on: a governed single source of truth, self-service dashboards, automated reporting, and the analytics and AI that turn raw data into foresight. You will work directly with the Team Lead on the channel's priorities, and partner with the regional Finance Transformation Lead to align on standards, platforms and the broader finance-transformation agenda.

You are the team's data and digital engine. You make the channel's numbers trusted, accessible and automated — so the team spends its time using data rather than assembling it, and the business can self-serve on decision-grade answers.

Key Responsibilities

Build the data foundation
•    Own a trusted single source of truth — build and maintain a governed data foundation for the channel — deliveries, share, volume, pricing, portfolio and financials — that every report and tool runs on.
•    Model and integrate the data — bring data together from multiple systems, clean and structure it, and build data-quality checks and clear ownership so the numbers are trusted.

Dashboards & self-service reporting
•    Build self-service dashboards — design and deliver dashboards that give commercial, portfolio and financial insight at channel, region, dealer and district level — so users find answers themselves.
•    Productize the recurring reporting — turn manual reports into automated, refreshable products so leadership always has a current, decision-ready view.

Automation
•    Remove the manual work — automate consolidation, reconciliation, reporting and data preparation — moving the team toward a touchless cycle and freeing capacity for higher-value analysis.
•    Build control in — embed automated data-quality, compliance and exception checks so issues surface early, not at close.

Analytics, prediction & AI
•    Turn data into foresight — deliver the deeper analytics — portfolio, profitability, pricing and scenario analysis — that anticipate the next question rather than react to the last one.
•    Apply prediction and AI — develop predictive models and apply modern AI tooling to extend what the team can do and multiply each person's impact.

Digital tools & enablement
•    Build the channel's toolkit — create reusable, well-documented tools — pricing and program calculators, planning and forecasting models, and idea and project trackers.
•    Champion a tool-first, teaching-led model — make tools the default way insight reaches decision-makers, and coach users so they can self-serve with confidence.

Partnership & transformation
•    Deliver with the team and the region — work directly with the Team Lead to translate channel priorities into digital solutions, and partner with the regional Finance Transformation Lead to align on standards, platforms and the wider transformation roadmap — reusing regional capabilities rather than rebuilding them.

What success looks like

•    Data gets used, not assembled — the team stops preparing data and starts acting on it.
•    The channel self-serves — decision-makers find trusted, decision-grade answers on their own.
•    Automation replaces manual work — recurring reporting runs itself, freeing the team for insight.
•    The numbers are trusted — one source of truth that is correct, accessible and consistent.
•    Tools are adopted — what you build is used as intended — not just delivered.

Who are you?

Qualifications - Required
•    Bachelor's degree in a related field - preferably in a Data or Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Statistics
•    Relevant professional experience building data, business-intelligence or automation solutions — ideally supporting a finance, commercial or financial-services function.
•    Strong SQL and hands-on data modeling, plus experience building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau.
•    Experience with a modern data platform (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) and building or maintaining data pipelines.
•    Automation skills — Python and/or low-code tools (e.g., Power Automate, Power Platform) to eliminate manual work.
•    Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate business questions into data solutions and work with imperfect, real-world data.
•    A clear communicator who can make complex data simple for non-technical users.

Preferred
•    Experience in captive finance, banking, leasing, automotive or equipment finance.
•    Familiarity with financial and commercial concepts — P&L, pricing and spread, portfolio and credit metrics.
•    Predictive or statistical modeling and machine-learning experience.
•    Experience applying AI (e.g., large language models, agents, copilots) to finance or analytics workflows.
•    Experience with data governance, controls or audit tooling.

Additionaly, you are
•    A technical builder — you enjoy making data usable and automating the manual.
•    Product-minded — you build reusable, documented, adopted tools — not one-off files.
•    Curious and analytical — you dig for the “why,” not just the “what.”
•    Business-minded — you connect the technology to the decisions it improves.
•    Collaborative — you work shoulder-to-shoulder with the team lead, analysts and transformation partners.

Why this role?

This is a chance to own the data and digital layer of a finance team that treats digitalization as core work, not a side project — spanning the full stack from data and dashboards to automation and AI, with room to grow as the channel's digital capability grows.
