What you will do
As Group Manager for Project Management Office (PMO), you will lead and serve a team of highly skilled and passionate project managers responsible for the execution of the agreed product portfolio (projects/epics) and product/project quality activities.
As Engineering Group Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of highly skilled Project Managers and Engineers
- Directing work in your team, providing leadership and guidance to deliver project activities on time and according to budget.
- Identifying potential risks related to our development plans and developing mitigation strategies
- Managing budget and resources, developing competence and professional development to meet current and future needs
- Maintaining strong relationships with other functions and stakeholders (local and global) to support project deliveries.
- Providing regular updates to senior management and representing the department in selected project governance fora
- Leading continuous improvement activities to always improve our way of working
- Contributing to strategic decision-making as a member of the Chassis Engineering leadership team
In this position, you will report to the Chief Engineer and take an active part in the leadership team to contribute to the overall development of the department.

Our team, Chassis & Vehicle Dynamics Engineering, develops components, systems, and complete chassis solutions for diesel, electric and autonomous vehicles for Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks to support the North American market.
We take full ownership of the product and are accountable for everything we engineer from strategies to maintenance. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering, or related field.
- 8-12+ years of experience in Product Development within the automotive industry.
- Experience in Project management of large projects, specifically in a Safe Agile environment.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the market and applications
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Leadership experience as a manager with direct reports.
- Prior experience working with Agile Release Train, PI planning and Scrum Master.
