What you will do

Volvo Autonomous Solutions is scaling autonomous Highway trucking solutions for on‑highway freight operations in the United States. As we move from pilots to commercial deployment, we are seeking a Head of Sales - Volvo Autonomous Solutions NA. to lead revenue growth, customer adoption, and strategic partnerships across the North American logistics and freight ecosystem. This is a senior commercial leadership role with end‑to‑end responsibility for building a scalable sales engine for autonomous long‑haul transport.

 

As Head of Sales - Volvo Autonomous Solutions NA. you will own the commercial success of autonomous on‑highway offering. You will define and execute the sales strategy, lead a growing sales organization, and work directly with large enterprise customers, logistics providers, and strategic partners. You will operate at the intersection of autonomous technology, freight economics, and enterprise transformation, working closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and the broader Volvo Group. This role is critical to taking Highway autonomy from early commercial deployments to scaled, repeatable business.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the North American sales strategy for Highway autonomous trucking
  • Drive revenue growth through enterprise solution sales to shippers, carriers, and logistics providers
  • Build, lead, and scale a high‑performing sales team focused on complex, multi‑stakeholder deals
  • Lead customer engagements covering commercial structure, value proposition, and long‑term partnerships
  • Manage long sales cycles involving safety, operations, legal, and procurement stakeholders
  • Ensure strong pipeline development, deal qualification, forecasting, and commercial governance
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to align roadmaps with customer and market needs
  • Shape commercial models, pricing structures, and go‑to‑market approaches for autonomy‑as‑a‑service
  • Represent Volvo Autonomous Solutions in strategic customer forums, partnerships, and industry discussions





 

Who are you?

You are a commercially driven, credible enterprise sales leader who thrives in emerging technology markets and complex solution sales environments.


You bring:


•  Significant experience leading enterprise B2B sales in North America
•  Proven success selling complex, capital intensive or technology enabled solutions with long sales cycles
•  Experience working with logistics, freight, transportation, automotive, or industrial customers
•  Strong understanding of customer economics, ROI driven selling, and value based pricing
•  Track record of building and leading sales teams through growth and scale up phases
•  Executive level stakeholder management skills and comfort selling to C suite and senior leaders
•  Strategic mindset combined with hands on execution and deal leadership
•  Experience with autonomous systems, advanced driver assistance, SaaS, robotics, or AI enabled platforms is a strong plus

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $212,800.00 - $262,900.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
