What you will do
As an intern, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our Product Information Management (PIM) system by training an AI model to optimize part descriptions, categorization, and VMRS (Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards) codes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Data Analysis: Review and analyze large datasets within our PIM system to identify patterns and trends that can inform the AI model's training process.
- Model Training: Collaborate with our data science team to develop and train machine learning models that can generate marketable part descriptions and accurately categorize parts based on existing data.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing of the AI model to ensure its accuracy and effectiveness in suggesting part descriptions and classifications. This will involve comparing AI-generated outputs with existing data and making necessary adjustments.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of the training process, model performance, and any modifications made to the AI algorithms. This will help in tracking progress and facilitating future improvements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and marketing, to understand the requirements for part descriptions and categorization, ensuring that the AI model aligns with business needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest trends in AI and machine learning, and actively contribute ideas for enhancing the model's capabilities and performance.

Who are you?
- You have a strong understanding of AI Tools
- You have worked with multiple programming languages and understand the value of documentation
- Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Data Science at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship
- Must be of good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75
- Fall intern may work up to 30 hours per week
- You are available from August 2025 – December 2025

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
