Intern: Business Control (Summer 2026)

The Business Control internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment to support/promote the student's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities with Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full-time professionals work together on projects and allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo Group.

This internship will be based onsite at our Greensboro, NC location, and will run from May 11th - August 7th, 2026. Interns may be eligible for a monthly housing stipend under certain circumstances.

What You Will Be Doing

The Business Control intern will assist with a variety of task-oriented work with the Business Control team including, but not limited to, improving existing processes, performing statistical analysis, and assisting in data pre-processing.

Main areas of responsibility include:

• Work with the North America Business Control team to collect project business requirements
• Collaborate with Truck brands on financial reporting
• Interact with different departments as needed to facilitate meetings, ask questions, document findings, and perform follow-ups
• Automate reports and provide alternative solutions
• Assist the team with specific project analyses
• Work on business intelligence projects and data preparation
• Out-of-the-box thinking for business requirements with good analytical skills

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or Data Analytics. Your degree must be at an accredited school, and you need to have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
• Must be either a Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student at the start of your internship
• Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher
• To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status
• Summer Interns may work up to 40 hours per week and must be enrolled as a student

• A highly motivated, dynamic person who has a knack for detail, organization, patience, problem solving, and communication
• Works well within a team environment
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of Power BI and other data visualization tools is a plus
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations in a dynamic environment
• 1-2 years of commerce or retail experience a plus
