Intern: D&IT Compliance (Fall 2025)

Position Summary:

As a Digital & IT Compliance Intern, you will work closely with local IT employees, third-party infrastructure vendors, global IT teams, and internal/external auditors to support security, compliance, and risk management activities for our financially critical applications. You will be responsible for delivering documentation, processes, and reporting that align with the Volvo Internal Control Standard for IT, ensuring compliance requirements are met and risks are effectively mitigated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice, guidance, and support for implementing IT security frameworks and management systems.
  • Perform compliance reviews of solutions and suppliers against internal and external IT security frameworks.
  • Assist in designing IT security processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Support IT-related audits, coordinate mitigation activities, and track remediation progress.
  • Recommend and help implement control measures to reduce identified risks.
  • Define, measure, and report metrics for risk management, compliance, and audit performance.
  • Use domain-specific tools and techniques to support compliance and security objectives.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are fulfilled, activities are executed on time, and any identified gaps are promptly addressed.

Education and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship
  • Must be of good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75
  • Fall interns may work up to 30 hours per week
  • Foundational understanding of IT compliance, cybersecurity principles, or risk management frameworks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with audit processes or exposure to internal control frameworks is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with tools such as ServiceNow, Archer, or GRC platforms is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
