Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and driven Data Scientist Summer Intern to join our team for an exciting internship experience. As a Data Scientist Intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals to tackle real-world data challenges, gain hands-on experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling, and contribute to impactful projects that drive business insights and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from various sources.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and insights.
- Support the development, training, and validation of machine learning models for predictive analytics and business solutions.
- Visualize data and model results using charts, graphs, and dashboards to communicate findings effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver actionable results.
- Document methodologies, results, and recommendations; present insights to team members and stakeholders.
- Stay current with the latest trends and techniques in data science and analytics.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Applicants must have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Matplotlib).
- Basic understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to innovative data-driven projects.
- Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week.
