What you will do

As an Intern: Finance & Risk Analyst, you will assist the Risk and Assurance team with a variety of task-oriented and analytical assignments across finance, risk, and internal controls. Your work will focus on improving processes, supporting financial and risk analysis, and contributing to automation and data-driven initiatives.

 

You will work with real data, improve and automate financial tools, and learn how finance, risk, IT and business decisions connect in a regulated, global environment.

 

Main areas of responsibility include:

  • Work on real internal control assignments gaining hands-on exposure to financial reporting, accounting, and how risk is managed in a global finance organization.
  • Collaborate with finance, risk, and business stakeholders to gather information, document findings, and perform follow-ups.
  • Work with data and dashboards, supporting business intelligence activities and preparing data used in finance and risk analysis.
  • Support where needed the portfolio and risk monitoring activities, including basic analysis and documentation.
  • Gain exposure to credit policies and underwriting related financial analysis
  • Interact with different departments to support discussions, meetings, and project coordination.
  • Contribute to automation and data-driven initiatives that enhance financial controls, reporting accuracy, and credit process efficiency.

You will report directly to the Vice President, Business Risk Assurance & Advisory, and work closely with team members across the globe. This position is located in Greensboro, North Carolina and runs from May through August 2026.

Who are you?

The ideal candidate is a curious, analytical, and proactive individual with a strong interest in finance and risk. You are comfortable working with data and financial information, demonstrate attention to detail, and are eager to learn how internal controls, credit risk, and financial analysis support sound business decisions. You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, contributing to accurate analysis and continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications likely required to be successful in this role include:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field and must have completed 30 credit hours or more prior to the start of the internship.
  • Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week. 
  • Minimum GPA 2.75 and in good academic standing.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and other data visualization tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Interest in finance, risk management, and internal control
  • Attention to detail and a structured approach to work
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
