Intern: Transport Material Logistics (Summer 2026)

About the Role

The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote their career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group Trucks Logistics through working on important and innovative projects that build experience in project and supply chain management, finance, supplier quality and negotiation.  Soft skills, high energy and a positive mindset are key assets for succeeding in this position, across a diverse, multicultural team. 

What you will do

•    Manage activities related to carriers and suppliers’ compliance
•    Support Continuous Improvement Activities
•    Analyze key components of the supply chain (carriers, transport set-ups, spend, etc.)
•    Participating in external and internal team meetings
•    Big data analytics examine large and varied data sets to uncover information including hidden patterns, unknown correlations and cost improvement opportunities to make informed business decisions.
•    Research emerging technologies (including benchmarking internally or externally) that can support Volvo’s processes improvement and cost optimization.


Internships are offered in each of the following Transport Material Departments:
•    Carrier Management
•    Logistics Development and Optimization
•    Data Engineering

Who are you?

•    You are currently pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field. Your degree must be at an accredited school, and you need to have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
•    Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher
•    Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week and must be enrolled as a student

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
