What you will do

The Manager Insurance Sales is responsible for the leadership, performance management, and business development of Volvo Insurance Services (VIS) sales operations in the United States.  This includes planning, organizing, and executing both short-term and long-term strategies to achieve the business’s sales objectives.  The role involves developing and maintaining sales processes, ensuring quality standards, supporting team members in meeting their goals, and driving alignment with broader VFS strategic initiatives.

 

This position reports to the Director Insurance Services & Solutions, and requires effective collaboration with District Finance Managers, Regional Sales Directors, internal departments, Volvo/Mack Truck and Construction dealer personnel, and VFS customers.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Lead, coach, and develop insurance sales personnel to achieve excellence in performance, integrity, and customer engagement.
•    Maintain close, daily interaction with the insurance sales and account management teams to ensure consistent motivation and successful sales outcomes.
•    Serve as the primary liaison between the U.S. insurance team and Truck and Construction Equipment finance channel leaders.
•    Represent the U.S. insurance team in Marketing and alignment initiatives across Volvo and Mack brands.
•    Support brand and dealer integration, program development, product implementation, and Digital & IT system integrations.
•    Drive new business through proactive engagement with prospects and customers nationwide, including extensive travel as required.
•    Communicate sales strategies, progress, and KPIs clearly and regularly to management.
•    Develop and continuously refine sales processes for Truck, Construction Equipment, and dealership insurance prospects and customers.
•    Partner closely with VIS Insurance Operations and Account Management to ensure service quality and process alignment.
•    Establish clear time management, communication, and contingency planning protocols for the sales team.
•    Organize and lead regular sales meetings and stakeholder discussions.
•    Identify opportunities for improved sales conversion and enhanced customer experience.
•    Manage and execute business development initiatives on new and existing insurance and waiver programs.
•    Perform other duties as assigned by management.
•    Extensive travel as business needs dictate.
•    Ability to represent VIS with professionalism and credibility across all levels of the organization and with external partners.

Who are you?

Skills and Experience    
•    Minimum 10 years of sales or business development management experience; experience in trucking, construction, or dealership environments is preferred.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
•    Strong leadership and people management skills with proven ability to coach and motivate teams.
•    Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
•    Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
•    High degree of integrity with a customer- and quality-focused mindset.
•    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
•    Demonstrated ability to produce detailed sales reports and performance dashboards.
•    Proven track record in sales growth, customer retention, and delivering high-quality customer experiences.

For this position, the base pay is set at $128,300.00 - $158,400.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
