What you will do

As a People & Culture Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, helping translate business priorities into practical people strategies that strengthen performance, engagement, leadership, and organizational effectiveness.
This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, building strong relationships, solving complex people challenges, and helping leaders create an environment where employees can perform and grow.


Your Key Responsibilities
As a People & Culture Business Partner, you will:
•    Partner with business leaders to understand their priorities, challenges, and workforce needs, translating them into effective people and organizational strategies.
•    Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders on leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, performance, talent, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning.
•    Build strong relationships across the organization and develop a deep understanding of the business, its customers, and its strategic priorities.
•    Support talent management and succession planning, including identifying critical talent, development opportunities, capability gaps, and future workforce needs.
•    Guide leaders through performance management, employee relations, organizational changes, and other complex people matters with sound judgment and consistency.
•    Use workforce data, employee insights, and business trends to identify opportunities, anticipate people-related risks, and recommend solutions.
•    Partner with leaders to strengthen employee engagement, accountability, collaboration, and an inclusive, high-performance culture.
•    Support organizational design and change initiatives, helping leaders and employees navigate change effectively.
•    Collaborate closely with People & Culture colleagues and Centers of Expertise across areas such as Talent, Compensation, Benefits, Coaching and Development, and Employee Relations to deliver integrated solutions.
•    Ensure People & Culture practices and decisions are aligned with company policies, applicable employment laws, and organizational values.
•    Participate in and lead People & Culture projects and initiatives that support broader business and organizational priorities.
•    Balance strategic partnership with hands-on execution, recognizing when the business needs consultation, coaching, problem solving, or direct support.

You are a business-minded People & Culture professional who understands that great HR partnership requires more than knowing HR practices. You are curious about the business, comfortable working with leaders at multiple levels, and willing to ask thoughtful questions and respectfully challenge when necessary.


You bring sound judgment, discretion, credibility, and a practical approach to solving problems. You are comfortable operating in an environment where priorities can shift, and you know how to balance employee needs with business requirements.

 

You also bring:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
•    3-5 years of progressive HR Management or HR Business Partner experience.
•    Demonstrated experience advising and coaching leaders.
•    Working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, talent management, organizational development, workforce planning, and employment practices.
•    Ability to manage complex and sensitive employee matters with professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
•    Strong communication, relationship-building, consultation, and influencing skills.
•    Ability to analyze information and workforce data and translate insights into practical recommendations and actions.
•    Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
•    Comfort working both independently and collaboratively within a broader People & Culture team.
•    SHRM or HRCI professional certification is preferred.

 

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $96,000.00 - $137,000.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
