What you will do
The Global Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services is seeking a Senior Assurance Analyst (financial reporting and accounting) to provide independent and objective business reviews, assurance in functional areas like sales, credit, collections, finance and accounting, IT and regulatory compliance, and fraud, as well as advisory services for the Volvo Financial Services Global HQ team.
As a Senior Assurance Analyst, your role will center on providing guidance and expertise in enhancing financial reporting and accounting accuracy across various areas, including new market expansions, system upgrades, product/service introductions, business continuity strategies, and training initiatives. This focus aims to elevate value, mitigate operational risks, and enhance the operational performance of VFS Globally.
Your starting point will be to, together with your colleagues at VFS and in the broad cross-functional network at the Volvo Group, take responsibilities in the following areas:
• Provide assurance to management regarding the effectiveness of financial reporting and accounting controls by applying digital tools in alignment with VFS Internal Control Framework and adherence to Volvo Group policies/standards.
• Conduct remote and on-site targeted reviews in selected market around accounting and finance processes using digital tools to assess the accuracy of financial reporting in alignment with group reporting requirements, international and local accounting standards
• Identify and assess control gaps/deficiencies within the organization using automated tools and promptly report findings to VFS Business Risk Assurance & Advisory and line/regional/global management.
• Provide technical finance and accounting advise to senior leaders and markets in connection to readiness of new products, new systems, or new markets
• Develop digital tools to continuously review and improve accounting and finance processes
• Conduct follow-up reviews to verify that control gaps and process improvements identified by VFS Business Risk Assurance & Advisory, internal/external auditors, and other sources have been addressed and are operating effectively.
• Perform thorough root cause analysis and provide detailed recommendations to management on the most effective remediation strategies.
• Manage and maintain the deficiency database for the region, utilizing digital platforms to ensure visibility of control gaps to stakeholders and facilitate timely resolution.
• Assist in various training initiatives led by Business Risk Assurance & Advisory and VFS line management, focusing on internal control, risk mitigation, and assurance activities, leveraging digital resources and platforms

We believe the successful candidate is a meticulous financial professional with a passion for accuracy and compliance and a sound understanding and expertise in financial reporting and various accounting standards across Europe. The successful demonstrates good verbal and interpersonal communication skills as well as ability handling confidential information and working with a high level of integrity and ethics. You have also proven attention to detail, with a high learning agility.
Qualifications likely required to be successful in this role include:
• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other relevant field
• A minimum of 5 years of working experience in accounting, financial reporting or financial planning and analysis
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIMA, CGMA, ACCA etc.) preferred.
• Equipment finance and leasing industry experience
• Effective communication abilities to convey complex financial matters clearly and concisely to stakeholders, both orally and in writing
• Preferably in-depth knowledge of European financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Proficiency in digital accounting tools and software.
• Excellence in reading, writing, and speaking English; additional languages a plus.
• Expert level experience working with Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
