What You Will Be Doing
This Senior Commodity Buyer is accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) of suppliers within the Information Technology (IT) segment. You will be responsible for making sure that the segment business plan is implemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCFTSR performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross-functional network during production and post-production phases. This position will be based out of our Greensboro, NC headquarter location and will report to the Head of Energy, Innovation, & IT Purchasing North America.
Responsibilities will include:
- Work closely and cross functionally with the business areas of Digital & IT, Group IT, and GTP legal for the best possible purchase and/or renewal, and delivery of solutions using established templates
- Find and evaluate products and services related to IT equipment and software purchases while understanding the differences in the types of solutions and hosting options
- Monitor market trends and technological advancements to make informed purchasing decisions
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and terms matching the supplied requirements
- Manage supplier relationships through contracts and purchase orders
- Contribute to segment business plan & be an active member in the global network of Buyers
- Collaborate with other members of the global supply chain to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and technology strategies
- Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards and Group directives for purchasing and information technology and security
- Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management targets (QDCFTSR)
- Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
- Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics, and financial flows to the suppliers
- Provide support and guidance on the purchasing/IT processes and procedures
What We Are Looking For
- 6+ years of strategic purchasing (e.g. end-to-end supplier relationship management, sourcing, negotiations, contracts) experience, preferably within the scope of Information Technology
- Strong communication and technical IT knowledge. Skilled in negotiation, contract management, and purchasing strategies
- Strong business acumen, agile in way of working
- Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent working experience
- To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status
