What you will do

The Senior Tax Accountant is a critical member of the Volvo US corporate tax team, which is based in Greensboro, NC.  As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will perform a full range of federal and state income tax compliance functions for various Volvo U.S. companies with multistate activities.  This position works closely with accounting and other cross-functional teams.  You will report directly to the Tax Manager(s) responsible for your assigned companies and will not have any positions reporting to you.

 

Core Responsibilities:
•Prepare U.S. federal and state/local income and franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimates for assigned companies and process related tax payments
•Prepare combined income tax returns for Volvo U.S. Group in selected states
•Prepare monthly income tax provisions and maintain related tax accounts in general ledger
•Prepare quarterly transfer pricing calculations and assist with documentation
•Maintain and reconcile tax fixed assets and depreciation
•Assist in researching routine tax issues
•Respond to notices from tax authorities
•Assist with tax audits
•Provide tax-related information and support to various global tax personnel, internal business contacts and external service providers
•Travel to U.S. locations as needed (< 5%)

Who are you?

Minimum Education and Experience:
•BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
•3+ years of corporate tax experience with public accounting firm and/or multistate company, including specific experience preparing U.S. federal and state/local corporate income tax returns
•Proficiency with tax return preparation software (OneSource preferred)
•Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Alteryx is a plus
•Strong communication and organizational skills

For this position, the base pay is set at $83,500 - $103,100 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
