Specialist Engineer - Vehicle Maintainability
Job Description:
Specialist Engineer - Vehicle Maintainability positions offered by Volvo Group North America, LLC (Greensboro, North Carolina). Responsible for monitoring and analyzing vehicle maintenance data to identify trends and patterns, and recommending corrective actions as necessary. Work cross-functionally with other GTT functions both locally and globally to optimize maintainability. Assist technology teams within the maintainability engineering area and act as a mentor to others in the team. Implement maintainability engineering strategies for assigned products and technologies. Drive concept reviews and packaging studies to ensure designs are optimized for maintainability. Support maintainability roadmap and contribute to technology roadmap synchronization globally with other engineering areas and across departments. Coordinate feature maintainability status considering daily maintenance, predictive, preventive, corrective, diagnostics, and software download areas. Organize work with brands and uptime stakeholders to document customer needs (product targets) and translate these into quantifiable product and technology requirements for maintainability. Facilitate balancing of maintainability requirements within all technology streams and conduct in-depth maintenance cost analysis building product and technology business cases to support concept selection optimized for maintainability.
Minimum Requirements:
• Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience working in the Aftermarket business in the heavy duty truck industry.
• Must have 4 years of experience handling automotive purchasing processes
• Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:
o Working with and developing automotive services products
o Performing data analysis
o Developing strategy for and working with automated data analysis
o Performing PowerBI development
o Using virtual or augmented reality in automotive product development
o Working with export market products and within the export market aftermarket business
• Must have at least 1 year of experience repairing vehicles
• Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
We are offering a salary of $134,137 to $137,235 per year.
