Sr. Highway Product Manager

What you will do

As the Sr. Highway Product Manager, you will drive market share growth and profitability increase for Mack Highway Products. You will also identify current customer demands and competitive gaps and anticipate future needs to inform the product development plan. 

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

•    Understand, anticipate, and map customer needs relative to the Highway segment (both Long and Regional Haul applications). 
•    Write PMRs (product/feature development request documentation) for identified customer needs and/or competitive gaps.
•    Follow-up with Project Management team and Engineering (TTI) organization on delivery of PMRs and projects.
•    Responsible to ensure a competitive and optimal offer for Highway product, by continuously streamlining our offer portfolio (Good necessary Diversity vs. Bad diversity).
•    Coordinate / lead marketing initiatives to drive upsell of value-added features/options; ensure execution and results by working alongside Brand & Marketing and Commercial Operations.
•    Provide input to the Strategic Pricing team relative to new features, products, and overall price management.
•    Support Commercial organization with Product and Freight Applications expertise; attend customer meetings, as required.
•    Attend selected Trade Shows, as either booth support staff or competitor/customer research.
•    Collaborate with Commercial Operations to ensure Highway products are easy to order.
•    Collaborate with Competence Development to develop content for and deliver Highway products training to the Mack Dealer Network.
•    Follow-up with Uptime and Quality organizations relative to quality issues with Highway products.
•    Other duties as assigned by the VP, Highway Product Owner.

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing or Business Administration, MBA preferred.

 

Preferred Experience and Knowledge 

•    5–10-year progressive experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, original equipment, or transportation industries.
•    Prior experience with product management, product development, business development and/or sales.
•    Familiarity with all of Marketing “4 Ps” (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) with prior direct experience in at least one of the four.
•    Experience setting priorities with cross-functional and complex organizations.
•    Demonstrated proficiency in all MS Office Suite products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Moderate travel is required.

 

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $128,300.00 - $158,400.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
