What you will do

We are excited to announce that we are hiring a Strategic Pricing Specialist at Mack Trucks. This role supports pricing strategy development for new trucks in the U.S. and Canada, including evaluating and optimizing existing options and setting list prices for new products. The position also focuses on portfolio positioning, price optimization, and competitive intelligence to ensure market competitiveness and achieve revenue and profit goals.


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities


• Support development of strategic pricing to achieve sales and margin targets

• Partner with Product, Sales Engineering, and Product Information to establish standard option pricing

• Maintain competitive intelligence to assess market position using field, deal desk, customer, and product insights

• Conduct margin and competitive pricing analysis across U.S. and Canada markets

• Propose base model pricing aligned with cost structure, target margins, and market positioning

• Develop pricing for new options based on value, customer demand, and competitive benchmarks

• Manage customer adaptation quotes, ensuring competitive and profitable outcomes

• Lead pricing strategies for new product introductions (introblocks)

• Coordinate with Product Information (ProBuilder) to ensure accurate and up-to-date price books

• Recommend pricing adjustments to maintain margins and respond to market dynamics

• Analyze transactional data to inform discount strategies and overall pricing position

• Evaluate options and features based on volume, pricing, customer value, and margin contribution

• Support field teams in resolving pricing and transaction-related issues

• Contribute to pricing system enhancements and IT roadmap to support long-term strategy

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience required

 

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a sales, engineering, finance or production environment.
  • Technical knowledge of Mack product offerings and abilities
  • Experience in multi-faceted problem solving & experience with customer/dealer contact
  • Experience using pricing software
  • Working knowledge of KOLA, Probuilder, mainframe and invoicing systems

At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $83,500 - $103,100 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
