What you will do

VFS USA is committed to creating a proactive, best-in-class Tax team that is integrated into our business practices as well as managing tax compliance. This position is based in Greensboro, North Carolina.

 

The Tax Analyst for Income and Property reports to the Manager Tax & Cash Management and is responsible for income and property tax compliance.

 

Core Responsibilities:

• Preparation of the US federal and state income and franchise tax returns, estimated tax calculations, and estimated tax payments.

• Prepare monthly income tax provisions based on IFRS accounting standards and maintain related tax accounts in the general ledger.

• Reconcile personal property tax related general ledger accounts and maintaining accurate sub ledgers.

• Extract data from company systems and reporting for use in filing property tax renditions.

• Render annual property returns in an accurate and timely manner.

• Research questions and issues raised by the business regarding sales and property tax issues.

• Respond to tax notices issued by various tax authorities.

• Assist with tax audits initiated by various tax authorities or internal control.

• Assist with tax related projects.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• BA/BS in Accounting or related field from nationally accredited university.

• CPA desired.

• 3+ years progressive tax experience with public accounting firm and/or multistate company, including specific experience preparing U.S. federal and state income tax returns preferred.

• Sales tax experience is a bonus.

• Proficiency with tax return preparation and fixed asset systems (OneSource and Sage preferred).

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

• Experience with Alteryx or other data tools preferred.

• Captive Equipment Finance or general financial services experience highly preferred.

• Knowledge of tax and accounting for leasing in the United States preferred.

• Knowledge of IFRS tax accounting preferred.

For this position, the base pay is set at $72,600.00 - $89,700.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
