We’re hiring a manager to help conceive, create and execute communications to help our employees and other stakeholders understand where we’re headed and how we’ll get there. We're seeking an exceptional communicator who excels in storytelling through videos, graphics, photography, and live events. This individual will work both independently and collaboratively to bring our stories to life.

The Visual and Digital Communications Manager builds understanding of our business strategies and performance, our challenges, our people and our values and helps strengthen connections across the group. We’re looking for someone who can take complex ideas and translate them into something clean, clear, informative, impactful and digital, whether it’s a video, a graphic, a motion graphic or a photograph. This role works closely with members of the Corporate Communications department, and cross-functionally with colleagues at Mack Trucks, Volvo Trucks North America, and Volvo Group. The role reports to the Director of Internal Communications.
The manager will:
- Storyboard, film and edit video communications to support our business plans and goals.
- Use video and digital content to help employees and other stakeholders understand business objectives and accomplishments.
- Manage pre-production aspects for different types of projects, often concurrently.
- Demonstrate fluency in graphic design principles and effectively apply them across various media.
- Be comfortable with streaming/broadcast production.
- Have photography and lighting proficiencies.
- Convert ideas and stories into compelling graphics and PowerPoint slides.
- Manage relationships with affiliated freelancers, as required.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Who are you?
- A holder of a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related fields (preferred) with at least five years of experience in communications.
- A highly skilled video production professional.
- A creative problem-solver.
- Skilled with the Adobe CC suite of tools, including Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
- Skilled with photography (DSLRs, mirrorless), lighting techniques, etc.
- Event-streaming skills, using external video/audio equipment, Microsoft Teams suites, Webinar.net, vMix.
- Graphic design experience, including strong layout, typographical, and strategic problem-solving processes.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications with demonstrable experience with PowerPoint presentations.
- Experience working with web-based applications and publishing tools.
- Flexible, adaptive. Our work is varied, and priorities can change when unplanned projects arise.
- Automotive, technical or related industry background a plus.
