Facilities Maintenance Lead – Real Estate Operations

As a Facilities Maintenance Lead, you will hold a critical leadership role in ensuring the operational efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment of site facilities and real estate activities. In this role, you will oversee workplace development initiatives, construction coordination, and facility maintenance across office, production, and warehouse environments.


Your leadership, cross-functional coordination, and technical expertise will directly support business continuity, workplace standards, and long-term site strategy. This position provides the opportunity to lead site-level execution of property and workplace initiatives while collaborating closely with the Real Estate Manager and Facilities Service Technicians to maintain safe, compliant, and professionally managed facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Portfolio & Property Support
•    Support site-level property strategy and master planning in alignment with corporate directives.
•    Maintain accurate site property records including leases, occupancy data, and asset updates.
•    Provide operational input into lease evaluations, construction planning, and investment business cases.
•    Support property portfolio reporting and ensure documentation accuracy.

 

Workplace Leadership & Development
•    Lead coordination of workplace updates and space planning initiatives in accordance with Workplace standards.
•    Assist in leadership of the Facilities Services Technicians.
•    Initiate and support workplace construction projects under established project structures.
•    Coordinate with RE, D&IT, P&C, TD/BA, and GS to ensure alignment during workplace changes.
•    Oversee contractors performing workplace-related construction or renovation activities.
•    Ensure meeting spaces, shared areas, and office environments meet professional and operational standards.

 

Property Project & Construction Leadership
•    Execute and monitor site-level property and construction projects according to established processes.
•    Update project documentation including scope, timelines, cost estimates, and performance tracking.
•    Ensure projects comply with technical, environmental, and legal requirements.
•    Support engineering and design compliance with corporate building standards.
•    Coordinate vendors and contractors to ensure quality, safety, and budget adherence.

 

Facilities Maintenance & Operations
•    Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs across office, warehouse, and production environments.
•    Perform maintenance and lead external service providers.
•    Ensure functionality of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, and mechanical systems.
•    Maintain records, work order prioritization, and maintenance reporting.
•    Work within budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
•    Support emergency response planning and serve as a site contact during disruptions or shutdowns.

 

Leadership & Compliance
•    Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
•    Ensure adherence to safety guidelines, regulatory standards, and company policies.
•    Maintain reliable presence and responsiveness to operational needs.
•    Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment aligned with organizational expectations.

Required Qualifications (Education, Skills, & Experience):
•    Associate’s degree in electrical/mechanical maintenance, Engineering, or related field preferred.
•    5–8 years of experience in facilities operations, or construction coordination.
•    2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
•    Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural).
•    Experience supporting property documentation.
•    Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•    Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
•    Valid driver’s license.
•    Operate areal lift equipment, forklifts, and various construction equipment and tools.

 

Physical Requirements:
•    Regularly required to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.; team lift or equipment used for heavier items.
•    Ability to safely inspect mechanical spaces, rooftops, and construction areas.
•    Must be able to walk production floors, climb stairs/ladders, and maneuver through operational environments.

 

Work Environment/Conditions:
•    Work performed in office, warehouse, and production environments.
•    Regular exposure to mechanical systems, construction activity, noise, and varying indoor and outdoor temperatures.
•    Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and site inspections.
•    Schedule may include early morning, evening, weekend, or on-call responsibilities based on operational demands.
•    May be designated as essential personnel during operational disruptions, shutdowns, or emergencies.

For this position, the base pay is set at $21.24 - $28.73/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
