We’re seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Electrician to support and elevate the reliability of our Kings Mountain Operations facility. In this role, you will be a technical leader responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical systems across robotics, CNC equipment, and automated production lines.

THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES:
The Kings Mountain team is a dedicated group of professionals driving innovation in the production of cab structures, sleeper boxes, body panels, and structural components for the Mack Heavy Duty Truck. At Kings Mountain, this position will play a key role in supporting and contributing to the high-quality production processes that meet the needs of our diverse customer base.  

 

This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.  

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
•    Install and commission electrical systems for newly installed machinery, including robotics, assembly stations, conveyance systems, and machining centers. Ensure all installations meet operational and safety standards.
•    Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance and proactive troubleshooting on electrical systems for machinery, robotics, assembly lines, CNC/NC systems, and conveyance equipment to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency. 
•    Lead the installation and commissioning of electrical systems for new machinery, including robotics, assembly stations, conveyance systems, and machining centers.
•    Ensure all installations meet operational, safety, and compliance standards.
•    Diagnose and repair complex electrical faults in CNC/NC machining center equipment, minimizing production downtime and maximizing equipment reliability.
•    Collaborate closely with the maintenance team and production departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues with malfunctioning machinery and systems. Offer expertise to resolve cross-functional challenges.
•    Manipulate automated systems via HMI, remote control, teach pendants, and other control devices for troubleshooting, repair, and service verification purposes.
•    Assist with the planning and installation of electrical systems and components, ensuring that all work is completed on time and adheres to safety and engineering specifications.
•    Actively participate in root cause analysis (RCA) to identify, document, and address recurring failures or inefficiencies. Collaborate with engineers, operators, and production leadership to implement sustainable solutions.
•    Mentor and guide junior electricians, sharing technical expertise and best practices.
•    Partner with cross-functional teams (maintenance, engineering, production) to resolve issues and implement improvements.

Education, Skills & Experience:
•    Technical School/Apprenticeship Graduate; associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred.
•    7+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
•    Certifications in robotics, CNC systems, or advanced automation are strongly preferred.
•    Proficient in working voltages up to 600 VAC (including 480 VAC and 277 VAC).
•    Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems for cross-disciplinary troubleshooting.
•    Proven record of mentoring/training peers and leading technical initiatives.
•    Proficient with working voltages up to 600 VAC, including 480 VAC and 277 VAC systems.
•    Strong understanding of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Mechanical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot cross-disciplinary issues.
•    Expertise in using electrical test meters and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical failures.
•    In-depth knowledge of industrial safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and environmental compliance. 
•    Extensive experience with electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of complex machinery, including robotics, CNC machines, and automated systems.
•    Strong communication skills with the ability to document repairs, create reports, and manage inventories.

 

Work Environment: 
•    Work is primarily performed indoors in a manufacturing facility; occasional outdoor work may be required for facility maintenance. 
•    Regular exposure to loud noise, grease, oil, dust, electrical currents, and potentially hazardous materials. 
•    Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders or stairs. 
•    Manual dexterity required for operating tools and handling parts. 
•    Regularly required to lift or move items up to 50 lbs; heavier lifting may require team assistance or equipment use. 
•    Schedule may require rotating shifts, weekend work, overtime, or on-call duty to support 24/7 operations. 
•    Designated as essential personnel during facility emergencies or operational disruptions. 
•    Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekend shifts if required.

For this position, the base pay is set at $34.15 - $39.27/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
